Had he not known better, the seventh year would have guessed that she fed him a near-daily supply of love potion, slipping it into his food and refreshments. "That's Prefect Dumble to you, shnookums!" He teased, just as ready as she to lean in for a reunion smooch. That was before he was momentarily left there, eyes closed like an oblivious sod, as he waited to feel her lips on his. Nothing came. Opening his eyes, Theodore immediately released the fifth year and stepped back, standing erect and blinking a few times to register what had just happened. Had they just been broken up by the PDA police? Had Emma gotten annoyed that easily and called them on the two lovers? Theodore knew that calling Alfie by the silly name of shnookums had been a stupid idea, just a little something to embarrass her in front of their Slytherin friend, but...
Alfie's introduction almost immediately cleared up the boy's confusion. These were her... it nearly pained Theodore to even think of the word. Her parents. It was now that the Ravenclaw wished his parents would have accompanied him onto the platform, or that Bree was around for a bit of feline back-up. Speaking of Bree, where was her nearest and dearest frenemy, Jay? He couldn't have swooped in and distracted the Ports from the scene that they had just disturbed? No? Oh, bugger. He glanced between Mr. and Mrs. Port, having a hard time avoiding the frightening gaze of her father and his professional aura. Intimidation was definitely in the air; could her parents smell his fear? "I, I really... it's really a great pleasure to finally meet you both. Truly," Theodore felt comfortable enough while shaking the hand of her mother, but Mr. Port felt like he was attempting to tear off his hand. Or maybe it was just in Theodore's imagination. "I... I've heard so much about-" It was then that Emma and Alfie mercifully cut short his awkward rambling. Saving Theodore from himself was a full time job, and these girls definitely were pros at being his heroines in this instances. He managed to relax slightly, straight shoulders slumping down relaxedly, as Alfie's had grasped him and transferred a subliminal message of comfort. So, this was what it was like to meet the family? Theodore wished he would have been a bit more compassionate towards Braeden at Malfoy Manor a few weeks ago when he had faced the wrath of Draco Severus. Shudder. But then again, that hulk of a quidditch player gave everyone the willies. He at least made every male in the immediate area feel a terrifying shriveling of their loins.
Glancing at Emma, Theo felt like willing her to step in. Although Alfie's parents leaving would make him feel a bit better, this was a necessary step in their relationship, and Alfie rushing them off so quickly felt a bit rude. But what was he to do? Stuck in the middle. A prefect, and stuck in the middle. This was horrible. Never had he ever felt such a drop in his mood. It was then that Emma began her questioning. "Ha, oh, thank you," He nodded politely, smiling slightly. "I... I'll take points when I need to..." He mused shiftily, although he knew punishing friends for misdeeds would make him feel too guilty to function. Quote:

Alfie herself looked as though she was the one offered the honour, practically beaming with pride as she stood at Theodore's side, obviously quite proud of her boyfriend. But he was a prefect! It was an honour! She opened her mouth to speak, to possibly comment on this idea of taking points away, when her father spoke first. "Prefect?" he announced with his powerful voice, eyebrows raising as he kept his professional smile. "Wow, that's quite an honour, isn't it?" he suggested as he crossed his arms over his chest absentmindedly, scanning poor Theodore with pure evaluation in his gaze. "You sure you're up to that?" he added, his tone the kind that could either be registered as mocking or simple curiosity. Alfie, obviously knew it was the former.
"Dad!" Alfie scowled, turning to look at her father with furrowed brows, obviously unhappy with his judgemental tone. Her expression lightened slightly as she turned to look at Theo himself, flashing him a warm smile, "Theo's going to be a great Prefect, he's the most responsible, kind person I've ever met," she informed the entire group, though her large eyes remained glued to Theo's expression for a moment, flashing him a reassuring grin. She then turned her gaze to Emma, giving the girl a soft smile as well, "Emm and I are gonna have to be on our toes to make sure we don't lose any points this year."
"You on the Quidditch team, son?" Mr. Port continued, seeming to not hear his daughter's kind words. He still had a smile on his expression, but his light eyes were evaluating, judging quite obviously the boy that his daughter was in a relationship with. But, having the career he did in the Quidditch world, Mr. Port only really cared to hear about this side of what the boy's hobbies might be.
"Does it matter?" Alfie posed, her gentle voice suddenly a bit more assertive as her father's eyes flashed momentarily to her own, his eyebrows raising just slightly. His daughter was rarely this defensive of anything really.
"I guess not," Mr. Port replied, though his expression sustained his cool, controlled smile and he obviously meant the direct opposite of his words. Of course it only seemed natural to him that his daughter should date some sort of Quidditch player. Alfie, on the other hand, couldn't care less if her boyfriend was involved in the sport or not. Mr. Port, after evaluating Theo for a moment more, turned his attention to Emma politely, "I hear you're involved with the Slytherin Quidditch team, though?" he added, his voice a little more kind than it had been with Theo. "I myself was on the Gryffindor team years ago."
"Yeah, Dad, your glory days, we get it," Alfie said nearly the second her father's mouth had closed, flashing him a weak smile and a look that clearly said, 'Shouldn't you be going now?'. Her hand still remained entwined with Theo's own, and she hated the idea of him being uncomfortable because of her father's questioning both him and Emma. Mr. Port's eyes turned to look at his daughter, then flickering over to glance at her left hand enveloped in Theo's own. His eyebrows rose, vague amusement in his lightly wrinkled features, but his expression wasn't one of a father who was sentimental, rather a father who was more amused than anything with his daughter's choice in men.
Emma smirked at Theo and then took a deep breath before making her eyes bigger and clasping her hands. She was making herself seem more angelic. Batting her eyelids, she began, " You won't take points away from Alfie and I right. Because we're Slytherclaws? And I'm giving you a country when I rule the world," she said, with a wide smile on her face. Hehe. Hopefully Theo would agree.
And the questioning began. It was as if this was a crime scene investigation and Alfie's father was the Head Auror and Theo was the dark wizard. And Alfie and Alfie's mother were bystanders. And Emma was a person sitting in a movie theatre watching the movie. Her brown eyes widened slightly and it took her a while for her to realize that she had been staring. Merlin. She had picked up that staring habit when she was polyjuiced as Alfie. Merlin's Beard. But, alas, this was entertaining. The whole movie scene. Ooh, quick. Someone get Emma Malfoy a popcorn and a butterbeer! She'd be set to watch this movie.
The blonde was glad that she wasn't in Theo's position. Merlin, being questioned by your significant other's parents. My oh my. Should she bring up the cake canon? The blonde's brown eyes narrowed at the thought and a look of pure enjoyment flooded her face. She began scheming. Her Slytherin mind turning, going faster and faster. Hehe. No. She wouldn't. Emma didn't really want Alfie's parents to worry about their future son-in-law pulling out a cake canon at the wedding, now did they? And then Theo was giving her a look that made Emma think that he needed saving. Ooh. Now, should Emma help or not? It was such a tough decision but soon enough, she made up her mind, but not in the nick of time because Alfie's father was continuing the Spanish Inquisition. Merlin's beard. Poor Theodore... Emma tried opening her mouth to say something but then closed it, defeated. She bit her lip. Maybe.. Maybe, she should take a step back and crane her neck around the group to see if Braeden had arrived, so that she could politely escape excuse herself. But, she'd be some lousy friend to both Theo and Alfie if she did that. So, she stayed. Standing awkwardly, listening to the Spanish Inquisition occur.
Luckily, Alfie got a whole sentence in whilst Alfie's father continued his speech. Emma stood in awe. This guy could really question. Was he an Auror or something? The Malfoy nodded at what Alfie said and smile, " Oh yes. He'll be a strict one for sure. I've got to improve my pranks. So that their more cunning," she said, teasingly and winked at Alfie and then at Theo.
And then turning around Mr. Port was adressing her. DID HE SAY QU-QUIDDITCH!? Merlin's Beard. The blonde's face immediatley lit up at the word and she grinned. The blonde nodded. " Yes, I was on the reserve team and I played as a Chaser in a couple matches," said Emma, proud of her accomplishment. The Malfoy was so going to try out and try her hardest to make the full team this year. Mwaha. Oh yes. Wait? So Mr. Port had made it onto the Gryffindor team. " No way, Gryffindor team? Merlin, they are still a pretty good team. Though, Slytherin had an amazing year last year out on the Pitch. But nevertheless, that's amazing, Mr. Port. What position did you play?" she asked, suddenly more interested in Alfie's parents. And her brown eyes flickered over and she gave Alfie and Theo a soft smile. Perhpas Emma Malfoy could be of assistance and perhaps she could distract the parents from questioning Theo to death. Her eyes glanced at Mrs. Port who seemed not taken by this conversation. The blonde gave her a quick smile, before turning her head slightly and looking into the crowd, searching for someone.
