I like the way 2 sounds, but then the action may have died down. I could go for 1, but that seems less plausible....hmmmm
i will go with 2? yes, 2.
LOL! I love how you tell me your thought process in deciding, I love it! Quote:

Tobias was not amused and not having any fun, the atmosphere was thick with tension and fear. Naturally no one talked to him; they all seemed to have something against him. He reasoned that it couldn’t be stink bombs he got from WWW’s and let off in their common room earlier this term; it was simply because he was Slytherin. He sat on a couch in a far corner, arms crossed in front of him listening to anyone who got within ear shot.
One very small blond haired girl looked very worried, ”How did they get in?” She kept asking anyone who came near her. Finally one answered, ”I heard it’s someone on the inside.” And then in a very low whisper, ”Rumor has it Professor Skipter is involved in the dark arts.” This caught Tobias’ attention; Professor Skipter is head of Ravenclaw. Could someone with such power and authority dabble in dark arts and Head Master not know about it? Surely not. Tobias found it difficult to believe the Head Master would be blind to such facts.
Time moved slowly, some people went to bed but most milled around. Tobias’ stomach ached, he hadn’t eaten since lunch. Marcus Gilroy, Hufflepuff prefect, was still up pacing the floor. He kept encouraging people to ”…go get some sleep.” Slowly there were less and less people up.
Tobias had formed a plan; he’d leave as soon as the coast was clear. Late into the night, or was it very early morning Marcus came near to Tobias, ”Sleep here.” The much older boy tossed a blanket at him and then disappeared into the dormitory.
He waited for a few moments, slowly got up careful not to make a sound. A hiss came from across the room and it made Tobias jump and let out a yelp! He froze, listening to make sure he didn’t stir anyone from their slumber. Nothing, he heard nothing; so he continued toward the door. Finally he reached the door, and surprisingly the door just swung open. He thought there’d be some sort of charm or enchantment he’d have to work through.
The hall was dark, and no longer frigid. Quietly the door closed behind him. Tobias wasn’t looking for trouble, he was just hungry. Making a right he preceded to the kitchens. Everything seemed normal to him. The castle at night was peaceful to him; he enjoyed the quiet – just listening to the castle. Tobias had forgotten about the inferi, his mouth watered as he tickled the pear and slipped inside.
Tobias stopped in his tracks as his jaw hit the floor. The kitchen wasn’t the warm, sweet smelling inviting room he was use to; it was cold, reeked of death and was completely destroyed. Something or someone had ransacked the place. The 4 large tables were turned on their sides; dishes, pots and pans were haphazardly strewn throughout the kitchens. It was also dark and cold. Were there really inferi at Hogwarts? Tobias thought it smart to arm himself. Holding his wand out in front of him he made his way to the stove, where one single pot was still on and hot. He looked in, ”Porridge, they were making breakfast.”
For the first time the severity of the situation weighed on Tobias. Something was seriously wrong; a wave of ice cold fear crashed over his body. A raspy, low whisper came from the corner, ”Attack.” The voice was calm, but bold. The cloaked figured stayed in the shadows as his minions followed his instruction. Tobias turned quickly and found 3 inferi coming toward him with a very obedient determination. ”Stupify!” The boy screamed as he stumbled backward, the spell simply bounced off the living-dead creature. Tobias ran backwards, looking over his shoulder as he ran. ”Expelliarmus!” A voice somewhere in his head reminded him they didn’t have wands. Tobias tripped over a pan and fell on to his back, ”AAHHHHHH!”
The creatures crept closer, he tried to scoot backward but he found himself against a wall. ”Noooooo!” was all he could say, as the inferi closed in the cloaked figure followed them from a distance. Tobias was sure the inferi master was laughing. The boy threw his arms up in front of his face, and then as if by magic he heard, ”Incendio!”
A warm blaze shot past his head, and the inferi were stumbling backward. Tobias peeked out from behind his hands he saw the dark cloaked figure slip off the other direction; the inferi followed. ”Well you’re lucky I came around huh?” It was Rosa, his best friend. He stood and brushed off his pants, ”I would have been fine thank you!” Tobias quickly evaluated the situation. ”The man, or whatever that told them to attack left that way, we need to chase him!” Rosa grabbed his arm as he started that way, ”NO! There are more important things.” Tobias was mad enough to stun her, ”What is it Rosa?!”
The girl looked toward the main entrance to the kitchens, ”I came looking for you. Your brother has been attacked.” Tobias had an older brother, Jackson. Jackson was a year older than Tobias, but Tobias was much more able to manage himself. Jackson was more timid, meek and frankly Tobias typically saved him from random mishaps. ”Huh?! Is he ok?” Rosa didn’t look him in the eye, in fact she looked in the complete opposite direction. ”He was out looking for you when he got attacked. He’s been sent to the nurse, I know it’s pretty bad. He was asking for you.” Rosa had tears running down her face; Tobias was sure she knew more and wasn't telling him. CHOOSE NOW!
1. Tobias immediately runs out the main entrance of the kitchen towards the nurse.
2. Tobias figures his brother is in good hands, and he must get to the bottom of what is going on. He darts off in the direction of the cloaked figure. |
