"Well, I guess it will be fun." Alex looked rather doubtful. It wasn't like she didn't want to try..but, she didn't want to make a complete fool of herself. She looked at him surprised when he said that he'd never played hoopla before. "Oh? It's like a really popular game..especially in a fair like this." She gave a small smile. "Yeah. Hopefully. You ready?"
"Well I always prefer conversation to confrontation, but if the situation calls for it, I do what I have to," Damon said with a little shrug. He noticed that Alex's face had blushed a little, but he didn't want to comment on it, or make Alex feel like he had noticed it, so he kept his face neutral.
"I'm not the strongest guy in the world, but I know how to take care of myself." Throughout Damon's childhood he had lived in some rough areas, and if you didn't have at least a basic level of self defense training you were done for. That's just the way it was.
Damon wasn't sure if he was ready, but Alex looked ready and that was good enough for him.
"Sure," Damon said with a little smile, taking hold of Alex's hand and leading them over to the game. He hoped she didn't mind, but he just wanted to make sure they didn't get lost or separated while moving through the mass of people that had somehow managed to get even larger during the couple of minutes they had been standing to the side talking.
"Since you're more familiar with how the game works, would you like to go first?"
