Aaaaaaand a wince invaded her face as he almost shrugged his previous compliment off, "Oh. Okay. Umm.. sorry," So they did say to all girls that they were beautiful in Brazil or whatever the last country he was in. Was it why most boys escaped when she talked? Heh. It looks like it.
She turned her head to gaze out at the city, no goggles this time, and let her head carry her away. She so needed to get over Dallin and stop this leaping heart of hers whenever someone talked about him or when he popped up in her head just like that. There she was sitting in a basket up in the air with an attractive foreigner boy and she was already blowing this situation up. She rested her chin on her hand and stared out blankly. Joćo listened with interest, although her explanation wasn't really enlightening. So she didn't want to get into details. Well, figures, if she tried to forget him. She had just asked some time for that, and he would let her have it. So he shrugged, and said "Well, at least you see clearly now." Right? Even if she didn't really return the compliments; she at least didn't deny either and that meant she saw clearly enough to notice the others. "Sorry for what?" He frowned, trying to think why she would be apologising. He said he'd give her some time--although he didn't exactly use that phrase, and as far as he knew, there wasn't anything he had snapped at. These Brisith were funny, I'm tellin' ya. They cared about being polite way too much. "Any plans for the rest of the day?" he asked again as they were now descending, eyes set on the slowly falling city. He knew better than to be too fascinated though, because no wonder they'd be on the move next year to who-knew-which country. |
