Sure, since getting with Mia, Nikolai may have softened down a lot little, but he still the same person as before. He would just have to look a little harder to find that old person, that's all. "If my woman needs fighting for, of course I would." Like she didn't already know that. And really, who wouldn't fight for their woman? It was just a ridiculous thought.
A simple shrug of his shoulders was all Mia was going to get from him at her comment. He wasn't going to tempt an answer or even think about food. The more they brought it up, the hungrier he became.
He was kind of glad that it was Mia's decision for wanting to go visit her grandparents. And although he felt like a hypocrite for even thinking about it, he didn't want someone to force her to do something she didn't want to. Not when it came to things like this. Nikolai gave her a small smile and another squeeze. "I understand, Mia." He did. There was no doubt in his mind, he would have decided the same thing if it were happening to him. Loosening his hold on her, he glanced at the view; they were almost at the top.
"Nothing, I guess. It's just.." How could he put this? "You probably shouldn't be yourself.."

Mia knew very well that Nikolai would stick up for her, it was one of the reasons why she loved him so much. But they semed to have this thing where they just needed to hear the other one say it out loud.
"I should think so." she teased, tossing him a wink. Of course she would do the same for him.
Somehow.
Their carriage was nearing the top and Mia let her gaze wander back over to the view while she thought about her conversation with her father and how he had pretty much begged her not to see her grandparents. But it was the last piece of the puzzle to her mother and she needed to finish the picture so to speak. Besides she was going to have Nik by her side so it shouldn't be too bad.
But then again...
She tore her gaze away from small buildings below and looked back at Nikolai.
"Oh I've always wanted to try acting." she said in a weak attempt at humour. His advice sounded rather ominous and she didn't want to freak out just yet.
"Don't worry Nik, I'll behave myself." Well she'll try at least.
