Apparently Spike’s good grades in Care of Magical Creatures were paying dividends with his parents, as not only had they started accepting Matilda, they’d also given him an important task - the purchase of Indiana’s owl. He liked to think it was because they trusted him to get something decent, as opposed to a ridiculously cute but otherwise tiny and impractical creature that Indy would choose.
He looked round the various specimens, wrinkling his nose. None were it. Then he spotted the inquisitive snowy in the corner, with wide innocent eyes. Spike knew someone else like that.
“I’ll take her.”
