Even though it could be so simple between the two of them, Damien knew it would eventually get slightly complicated. Isobel didn't know everything about him, yet. Hell, even Damien didn't know everything yet. And to be perfectly honest, he really didn't care right now. All he cared about was her. Their connection.
The Ferris wheel had started its journey back around at this point -- the horizon line greeting them as the continued their way back down from touching the sky.
"I don't plan on losing anything when it comes to you," he said, referring to Isobel's worries about their friendship. "You are what's important to me, and I've already felt what it's like to lose you. Believe me, it's not the most happy of feelings and I don't intend on having to repeat it."
His smile grew wider, if that were possible. Damien couldn't remember when he'd smiled this much. "We'll be together, then," he added, Irish accent slightly audible. "You and I will be together." |
