Hello people of Snitch Seeker! Just a reminder if the chapter notes on the end make no sense at all it's because these chapters where written earlier this year.
Disclaimer: I do not in anyway own the stories by J.K. or Stephenie . . . I just play with the characters a bit.
"Come on! Get up, get up! You're leaving today! Get up!" Alice said, bouncing on my bed. I folded my pillow over my head, trying to block out Alice's squealing. I peaked out of one eye and saw that her face was right next to my head.
"How nice. You seem a little too excited to kick me out of your life." I grumbled. She rolled her eyes.
"Come on, it's almost 10:00! We need to get going. We already packed your stuff in the car so we're just waiting for you to get your lazy butt up. I swear you're worse than Emmett." I rolled over on my face before sitting up. Kamilah's cage was empty, sitting on my nightstand. I shot up strait.
"Where's Kamilah?" I asked.
"Oh, Emmett ate her." I gasped. I glared at her and quickly threw my sheets across the room.
"What?" I said through my teeth. She started giggling.
"Jeeze, it's a joke. Lighten up. She's downstairs trying to keep away from Emmett. She keeps clawing at his head." I let out a sigh of relief.
"I knew there was a reason I liked her." I said, picking up her empty cage and going down stairs to rescue Kamilah. When I reached the living room, where Emmett was taking swings at a flying Kamilah who would claw him every few swings, I whistled for her. She immediately responded, dodging Emmett's swipe and flew towards me. She landed on the table next to me and cocked her head to the side. I scratched behind her wing.
"Hey girl, was Emmett being mean?" I asked her. She cooed in response.
"It's not my fault the little brat kept taking swipes at my head! It's not my fault!" Emmett said.
"I don't know what's more sad, Emmett. The fact that you picked a fight with a
bird or that said bird outsmarted you." I said holding up Kamilah's cage. She obediently went in. "How'd she even get out anyway?" I asked.
"Emmett thought it would be fun to bother Edward with her." I snorted.
"That plan back fired didn't it, Emmett?" He huffed and crossed his arms.
"It sounded smart in my head." He said. Dad snorted.
"No it didn't. It sounded dumb like every other thought you have." Dad said glaring at Emmett. " It was a terribly thought out plan. It would have never have worked." Dad said turning to me. "You ready to go?" He asked sadly. I sighed and picked up Kamilah, who now resided in her cage.
"As I'll ever be." I wrapped my arm around his waist.
"Don't worry dad, I'll come home, I promise." He kissed my temple.
"I know. I just can't help but to be a bit sad that my only daughter is leaving for the time being."
"Right, well we wouldn't want to miss the train now would we?" I said trying to lighten the mood.
"Right. Lets head out shall we?" Dad led my mom and me out to the rental car since it'll take a couple weeks for dad's 'baby' to arrive in London.
The drive was mostly silent, but that was usually the way it went with my family. There was no need to fill the silence with mindless chatter. Though I could have sworn that mom was sobbing. Dad's eyes were vacant as he stared out at the road ahead of him. We got to Kings Cross station quicker than I thought humanly possible. This is it. Times up. In just a few hours I will be on my way to learning how to pull a rabbit out of a hat.
Dad got me a cart and put all my stuff on there. Kamilah hooted aggravated when she was startled from her nap. We quickly pushed the cart to where platform 9 and ¾ should be. We could see a few wizard children going through the wall and I think I figured out how to do it. I turned to my parents and engulfed them in a hug.
"I love you guys." I said sobbing into dad's chest.
"We love you too, little angel. Now go learn up something we can annoy Emmett with." I giggled.
"Alright. See you guys at Christmas." I kissed both their cheeks. Before sprinting gracefully at the wall. Kamilah didn't appreciate the change in speed. As soon as I went through the wall, I came to a jam packed platform. Children, teens, young adults, and the occasional teacher filed slowly onto the train. I stopped at the corner to get my IPod and the current book I've been reading out of my trunk. I walked up to the nearest worker who took my luggage and instructed me to get on the train.
I walked through the aisles looking for an empty compartment. When I found one I sat down, took out my IPod, and started to read my book.
About a half hour after I started reading I felt a tap on my knee. I looked up to see Thelma Diggory's son standing above me. I took out my ear bud, physically telling him that he had my attention.
"Can I . . . um . . . sit here?" He asked in a slightly nervous voice. I shut off my IPod and closed my book seeing as it was rude to ignore him like that.
"Sure, go ahead. You're Cedric right?" He took a seat and blushed.
"Yeah, I didn't catch your name though. May I ask you for your name?" He asked sweetly. I held out my hand.
"I'm Renesmee Carlie Cullen, but you can call me Nessie." He gently shook my hand and mumbled quietly about how nice it was to meet me. He noticed the book in my lap and his eyes sparkled.
"What are you reading?" He asked with genuine interest.
"To Kill a Mockingbird." I answered. "Do you like to read?" I asked. It was usually weird for a guy to take such an interest in reading.
"Um, yeah. I've heard of that book, it is one of my mother's favorites."
"Oh, that's cool. Look, I'm not from this world; do you think you could tell me a bit more a bit more about it?" I could tell he was slowly becoming calmer around me but he was still nervous. I wonder why that is. Just then the train started moving.
"Sure w-what do you want to know?" He asked fiddling with his fingers and looking down in his lap.
"Well, I would like to know a little bit more about this all mysterious school we're being shipped off to." I said watching the English country sides pass by.
"Well, the school itself is a medieval like castle. It was founded by Godric Griffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin some five hundred years ago or something. There are four houses which we'll get sorted into when we get there. They're based on personality. Though no one really wants to be in Slytherin since that is said to be the house that has the most evil wizards." We continued talking for the rest of the way to the castle. Cedric told me about his life in Ottery St. Catchpole and I told him about the small town life in Forks. He asked me questions about 'Muggle' life and I asked him about wizarding life. Him, being a gentleman, ignored the giant elephant in the room and didn't ask about my 'heritage'. There was a pull that I couldn't explain that kept me seated as close as I could near Cedric. I felt myself getting closer to him which scared me to death. But I decided to live in the moment and get close to him. I only hope I made the right decision.
