Hogwarts RPG Name: Megara Kostas First Year | Chapter Twenty-One - The Date 25th July 1978
The day was spent browsing shops for Izabella's school supplies, Lucius often picking up extras and refusing to let her pay herself. Izabella drew the line when Lucius dragged her to the Quidditch shop and attempted to buy her the new Nimbus.
“Please Izabella, you're Head Girl. You should have a good broom.”
“You got Head Girl? Congratulations Iz!”
Izabella turned at the sound of the voice and smiled as Scott approached her, a Ravenclaw in her year.
“I haven't actually told anyone yet...” she said, throwing at glare at Lucius.
“Neither have I.” Scott said with a grin. Izabella's forehead creased and she tilted her head at him questioningly. “I got Head Boy.”
Izabella gasped slightly and threw her arms around his neck as he picked her up and spun her around.
“Scott that's great! I thought it was going to be someone awful.”
“The Gryffindors won't be happy.” he said with a chuckle.
“They never are.” Izabella replied. Scott threw his head back and laughed as Lucius cleared his throat.
“Sorry to interrupt, but we have lunch reservations.” he said coldly.
“Oh right. Well I'll see you on the train Iz.” Scott said. Izabella smiled and reached up to kiss his cheek.
“See you soon.”
Scott nodded politely in Lucius' direction then left the shop.
“Are you going to let me buy you the broom?”
“No Lucius.”
“Fine. Then I pay for lunch.”
“So, where are we going for lunch?” Izabella asked rolling her eyes.
“A restaurant called La Prima.” he said, leading them out of the shop and wrapping his arm tightly around her waist. There was a bright flash in front of them and Lucius sighed.
“Rita Skeeter's photographer. I believe we will be in the Prophet tomorrow.”
“Oh great.” Izabella said sarcastically. “Then all of my friends will know.”
“Know what?”
“That I went out with you.”
“Is it a problem?”
“To them it is.” she said with a sigh.
“And to you?” he asked quietly.
“Lucius. I wouldn't be here if I didn't want to be.”
He looked down at her and nodded slightly as they stopped outside of a building with silver chairs and tables outside, where people were eating and enjoying the last of the July sunshine. Izabella saw another flash and grabbed Lucius' hand, pulling him inside of the restaurant.
A waiter scurried over as he spotted Lucius and nodded his head politely to Izabella.
“Master Malfoy, we have your table waiting.”
“Excellent.” Lucius said as they reached a booth at the back of the restaurant where it was lit by candlelight.
He gestured for Izabella to sit and she slid along the bench seat, placing her bag next to her. The table was circular, meaning that Lucius was able to sit beside her on the comfy bench. The waiter handed them both a menu and Izabella opened it and scanned the meals quickly as she heard her stomach begin to rumble.
“Can I get you a drink Master Malfoy and Miss...?”
“Izabella.” she said with a smile. He nodded slightly, hiding his discomfort at using her first name. She grinned.
“Prince. Miss Prince.”
Lucius chuckled.
“Wine would be fantastic thank you.”
The waiter hurried off and Izabella resumed her study of the menu. Lucius sat and watched her, a smile on his lips and his menu untouched.
“Aren't you going to look?” she asked.
“I am looking.” he grinned.
“At the menu.” Izabella said with a roll of her eyes.
“I know what I want.”
“Do you come here often then?” she asked as she folded her menu and placed it on the table.
“It's my father's favourite restaurant.” he replied.
The waiter returned and placed the wine cooler in the centre of the table. He placed two glasses down and filled them with wine expertly.
“Are you ready to order?” he asked, pulling out his notepad.
“I'll start with the prawns.” Lucius said.
“The soup please.” Izabella smiled.
“And for mains?” the waiter asked.
“Roast chicken please.”
“And for you Master Malfoy?”
“Steak, well done.”
The waiter nodded his head and left the table.
“You could of said please.” Izabella said once he was out of sight. She picked up her glass and took a sip.
“I tip well.” Lucius said with a shrug.
“You're more like your father than you think you are.”
“Lets not talk about my father.”
“How about we talk about Rodolphus Lestrange?”
There was a silence in which Lucius stared at Izabella as she bit her lips nervously.
“So you were listening to our conversation.” he said in a quiet voice.
“I wasn't listening... I just heard.”
“What exactly did you hear?”
Izabella shrugged.
“Exactly. You don't know what you are talking about so you should-”
“So tell me then!”
“I told you that I would Izabella.”
“I'm waiting.” she said, leaning back and folding her arms.
“Not now. I said when the time is right.”
“It sounds dangerous Lucius. I want to know what you've dragged my brother into.”
“Severus knows perfectly well what he is doing. He is of age and-”
“So am I!”
“Well start acting like it then.” Lucius hissed.
“Your starters.” said the waiter as he approached the table, placing the plates down in front of them.
“Thank you.” Izabella said quietly as he left.
“Izabella listen.” Lucius said, his voice gentler. “You can't go around listening to people's conversation. I intend on taking you to the Manor often and my father has a lot of important meetings in his study. I can't have you sitting outside the door listening.”
“I wouldn't.” she mumbled.
“I promised I would tell you and I will. I never break my promises.”
Izabella sighed and nodded slightly. He smiled and placed a hand on her thigh, squeezing gently.
“So, you intend on taking me to the Manor?” she said smiling slightly.
“Of course. You might not of noticed Izabella, but I intend on making you my girlfriend.”
Izabella, who had just taken a bite of bread, choked and starting coughing violently. She took a large swig of wine and took a deep breath as her throat cleared.
“Too soon?” Lucius said.
“You maybe should have waited until I wasn't eating.” Izabella replied, aware that his hand was still resting on her upper leg.
Lucius nodded slightly, his fingertips gently tracing small circles on her leg. She swallowed loudly and they locked gazes, staring at each other intently.
“Your soup will get cold.”
“We should probably eat.”
After a few more moments Lucius smiled and slowly pulled his hand away. He shifted in his seat and picked up his spoon. Izabella did the same and quickly took a mouthful of food.
The rest of lunch passed pleasantly; they ate and talked and laughed. While Lucius was paying the bill, which he refused to let Izabella see, she waited by the door. He joined her and smiled, taking her arm as he lead her outside.
“Do you wish to go straight home?” he asked.
“What are my other options?” Izabella said grinning.
“Well we could go to the Manor.” Lucius suggested.
“Sounds great.”
He smiled and grasped her hand as they disapparated to the Manor.
They landed in the garden, by the water fountain they had sat at, on the day of Tobias' funeral. Izabella smiled and sat at the edge of the fountain without dipping in her feet. It was already evening and the breeze had become a little cooler.
Lucius sat beside her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, rubbing her arm gently and warming her through the friction. She snuggled against him, leaning her head on his shoulder. Then suddenly she sighed and stood up, facing away from him.
“Izabella? Is everything okay?” he asked gently.
“What you said in the restaurant, did you mean it?”
“About making you my girlfriend? Yes of course.”
Izabella nodded slightly but remained silent. She felt Lucius stand and move behind her, placing one hand on her lower back comfortingly.
“What's the matter?” he asked softly. Izabella sighed.
“I've never been somebody's girlfriend before.”
“What about Black?” Lucius frowned.
“I was never actually his girlfriend... Sirius has serious commitment issues. I went out with other boys on dates, but it was usually to make Sirius jealous so they never lasted long.”
“So I am just another attempt to make Black jealous?” Lucius said harshly.
“No!” Izabella protested, turning around to face him and taking hold of his hands. “No, I like you Lucius. I really do.”
“So what's the problem?”
“I don't know... I've only known you for a few weeks and I just don't get it. Why me? There are hundreds of girls out there who would love to be the Lady of the Manor and they seem more suited to you. I'm just a normal-”
“Izabella you are far from being 'just normal'. You, Miss Prince, are beautiful, intelligent and you're a nice person. You don't find that in many Purebloods.”
Izabella sighed.
“Izabella, I knew from the moment I met you that you were different to the others. I wouldn't care if you were a Muggle. I'd still fall in love with you.”
Izabella's head snapped up as Lucius dropped his gaze, his cheeks staining a light red.
“You're falling in love with me?” she asked in a quiet voice.
“It's impossible not to. The more time I spend with you, the harder it gets to be away from you.”
Izabella was silent as she studied Lucius' face. The evening sun was hitting his features, highlighting his high cheekbones and strong jawline. His pale skin seemed to glow and his hair, which was always so perfectly pushed back from his face, was falling in front of his eyes slightly as if he had been running his strong hands through it. He was so tall, Izabella had to tilt her chin up, and he was so broad he could engulf Izabella's petite frame in one embrace.
Lucius looked at her and Izabella swallowed loudly as his grey eyes warmed into hers. They were standing so close, their bodies were touching and Izabella could feel the heat radiating off of him.
He moved one of his hands to stroke her waist, his fingertips brushing over her rib cage through the thin material of her shirt. His other hand cupped her cheek, his thumb gently rubbing her soft skin.
Izabella lifted her hands to place them on his chest, feeling his rippling muscles through the fabric. She titled her face up to him and for a moment they looked at each other, her dark eyes gazing into the grey pools of melted silver.
Then his face was coming towards her and she closed her eyes as she felt his soft lips brush over hers. There was a gush of breath from her mouth before he kissed her again, his lips crushing down on hers gently but forcefully. His hand moved from her face to rest on her back, pulling her closer against him. She wrapped her arms around his neck, tangling her fingers into his soft blonde hair.
They were entwined for a few minutes before Lucius pulled back slowly, resting his forehead against hers. He kept hold of her, circling his arms around her and keeping her close. She kept her fingers in his hair, stroking it softly. He sighed quietly and rested his chin on top of her head as she buried her face in his chest.
“I am definitely falling in love with you Miss Prince.”
Izabella beamed and reached up to kiss his cheek in response, before snuggling her face into the crook of his neck and sighing contentedly.
