"I could buy you a new one, but don't wives always know?" Not that Cari was one for rings as something more symbol. He was lucky in that, Tate supposed. No throttling over lost jewelry.

"I said Lord Borr required it... but not that I am feeling like obliging the man. Still, good to forewarn the poor students in case they want to relocate to Durmstrang for next term."

"We really are not going to offer dance classes, yeah," he asked as Tate drew his speech to a close and sat down. This must be punishment for hitting Vindictus. "It is all a joke?" Please?
"I actually heard you were rather
bad at it, Stryker, so you may want to brush up. The way I see it is this..." He leaned closer and dropped his voice. "Borr wants me to cut your pay. Demands it, in that inimitable way of his. So I give you some one off task to do and a stipend for doing it equal to your pay cut, and we call it even."

"Behave, children, or no dessert," Tate gave Vindictus and Lafay a mild look at their bickering. Not that he blamed Vindictus (or Lafay, really... both were good targets), but this wasn't quite the time.
"Lafay, Lord Borr sent something for you as well. To cover your lost supplies from that fire in your cupboard." He made a face. It was clear to him now that the fire had been set to cover the theft of polyjuice ingredients, but it didn't make him anymore pleased about the very nearly dangerous situation that had happened in his school.
