That goes for any of the younger students.'' He smiled.
He shook his head quietly when Presley told him she hadn't been fishing for compliments. ''Oh, I know you weren't, but just listen to all that stuff you just told me! You're brilliant! I would have hesitated when it comes to any of those steps. Don't get me wrong, I work hard for the goals I set, and becoming a Hogwarts professor would be a huge honour, but I'm much too shy to take initiative like that. Or at least I would have never thought about it if you hadn't brought it up!'' He beamed at his friend.
Presley shrugged. Maybe most seventh years didn't act like that, but Pres seemed to continually bring out the worst in them, so that was how they acted to her. She laughed as he told her she was brilliant. That was the greatest compliment someone could ever recieve in Presley's mind. Beauty, well, was in the eye of the beholder, but intelligence was something worked for. Something that you could be justly proud of.
"You wouldn've thought of it," Presley said confidently.
"I just brought it up because it crossed my mind first. That's what friends are for, right? And really, I hope that before I leave here, you can be one of my professors."
