What would the past ten or so months have been like had his father's job not brought the family from New York City to England? Boring, probably, with home-schooled nonsense and much coddling from his mother. Theo could assuredly proclaim that his first year at Hogwarts had been the best time of his life so far, with new challenges, new friendships, new loves, and new passions.

As Alfie's gaze raked over him as she sat on the wooden bench, Theodore couldn't help but feel as if giggly, warm pygmy puffs were having a party in his stomach. At least, that was how it always felt when Alfie was around. Besides, the idea of butterflies in his stomach, or anyone's stomach, gave him the creeps. Before they were majestic butterflies, they were slimy little caterpillars that made stuffy little cocoons to live in for Merlin knew how long; it wasn't healthy nor attractive, in Theo's mind. So pygmy puffs, it was! "Why thank you, Miss Port," Theodore mused, playing along as he adopted a regal tone to match that of his girlfriend's. Girlfriend. Even thinking the word put a smile on his face. Plopping down right next to the fourth year, he took one hand to loosen the navy blue and bronze tie about his neck and took his other hand to grab Alfie's once more. It was something about being near to her that made him feel one hundred times better than he normally did. She was his good luck charm. "It feels like... like it all happened so fast," He mused vaguely, remembering the day that the pair met on the grounds. "I mean, this year. It feels like instead of hopping on the train, we'll be taking another Hogsmeade trip soon, or... or something." He chuckled lightly, aware of his rambling but not caring too much.
Alfie gave a soft, chiming sort of light chuckle as Theo addressed her as 'Miss Port', thanking her for saving the seat at her side. She flashed him a bit of a grin before feeling his hand find her own once more, warming up her smaller one and making butterflies swirl around in her stomach. Luckily Alfie didn't share her boyfriend's dislike for the creatures, and so having them take residence in her stomach wasn't a problem. In fact, she had welcomed them over the past few weeks with Theo at her side; he was constantly the reason behind them. It seemed that with every touch of the hand and glance in her direction, their little imaginary wings began to make her feel all giddy and she couldn't help but smile.

With her free hand, she gently picked up her goblet of water, taking a small sip before returning it to its place on the table and listening to Theo mention how fast this year seemed to go by. "Tell me about it," she muttered with a bit of an amused smile, her free hand gently coming up to meet the locket she adored, hanging around her neck as it had every day since she'd received it from Theo himself. She really did love it. "It seems like just last week I was roaming up to the tree house, no friends at all, only to find a group of people flinging cake at one another." Alfie raised her blonde eyebrows playfully, watching the boy at her side to see if he recalled this moment at all. Really, it was the first time they'd met. Or rather, they didn't meet, so much as made eye contact and he invited her to throw cake. They hadn't even introduced themselves. And yet, that was the first time they'd come in contact, and it was a very clear memory to the blonde that hadn't known anyone at all back then. She'd made eye contact with a rather adorable boy, who she never assumed she'd see again, let alone be in a relationship with.
