I didn't go around screwing things up for you." In fact, all he did was give out fantastic advice as her. Which, given what Mia had just done, he probably should have spent that time hexing and jinxing everyone at the table.

He chose to ignore her next comment. He was perfectly happy not having zits... or at least not knowing about them... thank you very much. He also ignored her comment about not causing her boyfriend stress. Every girl causes at least a little stress. Like right now for instance. Mia was currently causing him plenty of stress.

"You ran off pretty quickly. I barely had the time to tell you I didn't have any classes..." he retorted. "Plus. I figured you knew. Marie has practically been bursting out to everyone who will listen how right she'd been that Caroline and I wouldn't last." At least. That was the impression she'd been giving. And considering that Marie had just told him (although she thought she was telling Mia) about how he had gone mental and kissed her, he figured that the news of their breakup must have reached Mia ages ago.

Plus. Carter had asked about Mia's boy. Shouldn't she have asked him about his girl?

"What would you suggest I do then? Since you seem to be filled with such brilliant ideas." Such as pulling out nose hairs and forgiving people for breaking hearts.

He took a sip of pumpkin juice and immediately spit it out. "Who said anything about snogging?" he asked horrified at the thought. "I was merely suggesting that you have every bit as much to lose from this as I do." Except. Mia had made pretty good sure that his life was now completely ruined whereas he had been playing extremely nice with all her little friends.

Well it was obvious that Carter did not check his nasal hair very often. Or perhaps it was just a guy thing. But she didn't think that was right because she knew for a fact that Nikolai did not have nasal hair that long. She had been up close to his face. She knew. Mia gave him a sympathetic look and leaned across the table and patted his hand. "It's okay Carter. Maybe you're just a hairy person." Perhaps one of his cousins was a troll or something. Oh but he was a muggleborn so that couldn't be right. Gorilla perhaps. "No one has hexed me Carter." Like who would? Everyone loved her.

Geez anyone would think she ran around the school grounds naked singing the school song. It's not like she ruined his cred or anything. She ran into two people.

Mia rolled her eyes at him...well Carter's eyes. "Pfft...Marie and I are not joined at the hip you know?" Which was true but also because she couldn't remember whether Marie did tell her about Carter and Caroline. Sometimes. Well okay a lot of the time, she didn't actually take in everything people told her so she might have been told and just didn't recall it.

What did she suggest? Didn't she just tell him that only moments ago? "Talk to her. If you don't want to get back with her then just tell her that you thought about it and it's not what you want. If you do want to get back with her, well then I just did you a favour and you should be thanking me." She was so good like that. Always helping people out with their relationships.

She burst out laughing at the look on his face and then waved her hands dismissively in the air. "What could I possibly lose from this situation?" She was having the time of her life.
