He didn’t find his voice; he did however find his nerve. And his nerve told him he should RUN! As he stared up at the hag of a woman he knew what his fate held. Before she could say another word Tobias turned and sprinted as fast as he could. Behind him he heard her jolt toward him, and then things smashing – was she trying to jinx him!? He kept zigging and zagging in effort to exit the large room. The class gasped and cheered with every movement. Tibias dared not look back, the door was getting closer. Just then some sort of hex hit the wall beside him, he dodged left and then quickly out the door.

He slammed the door behind him and made a hard right toward the entrance hall. He knew Professor Wart Nose would be right on his heels. He had to hide quickly. He kept running, he heard the large, heavy door open somewhere behind him. ”MR. WELCH!” The woman sounded out of breath, but yelling like that she would certainly bring attention to the situation – more importantly she’d bring attention to him.

The young boy stopped, looking left and right trying to find somewhere to hide. He saw a large tapestry hanging near, could this actually work? It was his only option. He slid his tiny body between the stone cold wall and the heavy tapestry and held his breath.

The wart-nosed professor came down the hall breathing heavily. She was moving slower but still determined to catch him. Please don’t see my feet, please don’t see my feet.

Her steps came closer, ”I know you’re near Mr. Welch, I will find you.” Then, as if luck were on his side another set of steps approached. ”Professor Mackaroy?” It was Head Master Fulpian. ”Are you ok Professor?” The woman turned and answered the Head Master, ”That Tobias Welch! He’s at it again Head Master!”

Fulpian smiled, he had an affinity for the young boy. ”Mrs. Mackaroy, is it policy to chase down one child and leave a room full of children unattended?” The old, salt and pepper haired man inquired while the woman stood with her mouth agape. ”Sir?! He hexed me!” Although Fulpain knew Tibias was capable of this feet he dismissed the woman, ”Please return to your class.” The woman was stunned, but did as she was told.

Tobias was still holding his breath, surely he’d pass out soon if the Head Master didn’t be on his way soon.
