Carter racked his brain. For the life of him he couldn't remember a single lesson on what made the rowboats row. "We could try repelling the water?" he suggested. That might do something. Right?

Carter turned so he was now laying on his back. He settled his head on his arm and his arm in the nook between the shell and the turtle's head. There. That would keep him nice and balanced. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the sunlight. This was nice. He should have gotten a turtle years ago.

"You're not going to splash me with it if I say yes, are you?" he asked opening one of his eyes and staring at her with it.

"Because. If you do. I will not hesitate to knock you completely in the water."
