Disclaimer: I have no claim on the Harry Potter characters and universe belonging to J.K. Rowling. Snape’s Thoughts
The boy who sits on the other side of the Great Hall, everyone thinks is so special. I don’t think he is, why should I? How can that boy be treated with the utmost respect? His mother should have been mine, so I can’t help but loathe the boy. And for Dumbledore to ask of me to protect the boy? How can I? He has the bigheadedness of his father and struts about the castle as if he owned it.
I can’t give him the respect that others appear to shower on him. I will do the duty of protecting him, as I would any other student in the school. Is he happy? Or even thankful that I was there to protect him from the Werewolf? No of course not, he yet despises me! He should respect me, as his professor, but he don’t. Even the headmaster regards him with more respect then myself.
I don’t give him special attention, no of course not. If anything I expect more from him then I would other students his age. If he is as special as everyone thinks him to be, then he needs to show it and prove he is able.
