Kill the Snake

As everyone was in shock over the death of Harry Potter, my mind was whirling. I couldn’t let myself dwell on Harry’s death – that would only distract me from the task at hand. Voldemort was trying to earn more followers in the light of the Chosen One dying. He thought that all of us would bow to him and call him our new King, our new Ruler. I had a different idea. I wanted to finish whatever it was that Harry had started because Harry was no longer here to finish it himself.

The sword of Gryffindor was heavy in my sore, battle-scarred arms. I needed it, though. Somehow I knew that it was the only thing that would help me do what I needed to do.

As soon as I saw the snake, I lunged. I swung the sword with all my might as the giant snake lunged right back at me. There was an arc of silver and a flash or red. When the sword hit the ground the snake was dead. Just as Harry had wanted.
