"There are other suitors?" she asked playfully, taking a step back and turning as though she was going to run out of the cove and see the other prospects. But in the next moment, she had returned to the boy's side immersed in soft giggles, amused at her own small joke, as though she would actually just ditch him to see what else was out there. Please, her hands hadn't even left his own.
Even closer to him now than before, she straightened up with an amused smile as he addressed her by her full name, accepting her offer with the condition that she conceded to being his girlfriend. "Well, I think that's a very fair condition," Alfie agreed with the warmest of smiles. "I, Alfie, would love to be your girlfriend." A small moment of silence fell upon the pair as the blonde admired the sound of it all, her heart still beating quickly. She listened as he then mentioned his hope for them announcing this new development to their friends together. Her face lit up at the idea of it, letting out a soft, chiming chuckle as she imagined their faces. "I would love to make the announcement together," she agreed softly, a grin spreading across her expression. "I wonder what they'll all think..."
Theodore rolled his eyes playfully, his hands tightly grasping hers. He had her, and he sure as heck wasn't going to let her go anytime soon. That's what was fun about Alfie: she wasn't high-maintenance or flirty or generally like most of the girls at Hogwarts. She was relaxed and could be awkward and playful, just like Theo, but wasn't hell-bent on batting her eyelashes every time a guy came around. No wonder people said it was better to be friends first before jumping into a relationship.
When Alfie conceded to their silly formal agreement, Theo nodded and smiled. His cheeks would probably be sore tomorrow from all of the grinning that he had been doing today, but he didn't mind one bit. Theodore probably looked like a toddler who had been told that he had a lifetime pass to an amusement park, like Disneyland. He hadn't had much luck, any luck, with girls before, so the success of this endeavor was still slightly surprising to him. "I wonder, too," He murmured, gazing out of the cove momentarily, as if he would find all of their friends peering in at them. "Why don't we go find out?" Theo asked, an impish expression on his face. The news would get to their friends sooner or later, and it would be best to tell them now. If gossip got to their friends before the couple could tell them in person, Theo knew that he would get hell for it.
