The butterflies seemed to have escaped from her stomach, flying around all inside her and making her heart beat quickly, the smile unable to leave her expression. It was as Theo lifted her face up that he must've been able to see this radiant happiness on the girl's face. No one had told her the staring was endearing, before. "Endearing?" she repeated softly, slight disbelief in her tone.
Her heart seemed to skip in her chest as he leaned down and awarded her with a kiss on the forehead, something she hadn't expected but immediately adored. She bit her bottom lip softly, the warmest of smiles on her features, as she listened to Theo suggest that this was it. Slightly confused, her blonde eyebrows furrowed in amused confusion. "What do you mean?" she asked softly, her large blue eyes bigger than ever but not in observation as was normal. Now they were so large to simply admire the boy before her, seeming to reflect the sparkling sunlight and glittering surfaces of the cove around them.
"Yes," Theodore affirmed his statement, nodding and holding back a small chuckle. "Endearing, believe it or not. There's quite a difference between creepy staring and... endearing staring, y'know." The light laugh managed to escape him. Being a starer was much better than being a human tomato, blushing 24/7, in his high opinion. At least with the former, one couldn't be compared to a common garden vegetable. Or was it a fruit? Theo could never quite remember. ANYWAY...
As Alfie inquired into his inquiry, Theodore realized that he hadn't been quite clear with his meaning. In fact, he didn't even quite know how to say it. Tongue-tied once again. Linguistics score: Alfie 1, Theo -2. "I mean," He began, biting his lower lip in a near mirror of the wonderful girl beside him. "It's safe to say that we're more than friends now?" He squeezed her hand, not sure if this was all going too fast or not. "I don't want to leave people with the wrong impression... I mean, if you're not... ready, or something." Dumble stumbling over his words once more: typical.
