We burn down the house…almost
Pre-Hogwarts
“Come back here Awi & Abi!”
Alex screamed after one of his sisters. Abi and Ali were running around their yard, trying to avoid him. Alex was it! He should have known they wouldn’t make catching them easy. They never did.
“That would make the game pointless Awex!” Allison called back to her brother.
The five year old triplets were running around the backyard. Their mother had sent them out there while she cooked their dinner. All of a sudden, Alex seemed to be gaining on the two girls. So Allison being the rule breaker she was, ran into the house for safety. Abigail followed suit, the slightest bit reluctant. She knew their mother would be mad. But she did not want to be it.
They ran through the kitchen and were glad to see that their mother wasn’t there. They didn’t notice that the stove was still on and just kept running. Alex was hot on their tail though. He ran into the kitchen. Unfortunately, he tripped on the rug and fell towards the stove. He caught the towel that happened to be lying on the counter and pulled it to the ground as he fell. This caused vegetable oil to spill onto the flame.
It immediately caused the flame to grow. In turn, this caused the curtains on the kitchen window to catch on fire. The five year olds looked at each other in terror. They never meant to burn their house down. They liked their house.
“Get water! Quick!” Abi shouted.
Allison quickly ran and did as she was told, grabbing the biggest pitcher she could and filling it all the way to the top. She tottered over and tried to throw the water on the flame. It didn’t go high enough and the fire started to spread. Then, their mother ran into the room, hastily pulling out her wand.
“Aguamenti!”
The spout of water erupted from her wand and eventually put the flames out. She let out a sigh of relief and eyed her children.
“This is exactly why I told you to play outside.” None of the triplets said anything. The woman let out a sigh and looked at her children. “Are you all right?”
