Forcing back a blush, Aimée twiddled with her hair a bit more.
"Kinda. I mean, I don't know zat many people, and I am good at remembering ze ones I do," she said with another little shrug, although she smiled now. Tilting her head to the side, she studied him carefully.
"I don't like zem zat much eizer." Although she couldn't understand why he'd be
firghtened, and she voiced that.
"But why do zey scare you? Zey are helping you, no?" Where her mum was concerned, however, she could understand.
"I do suppose company is better zan a book, right?" she said with a slight smile and a shake of her head.
"You can't talk to a book." LOGIC. Way to state the obvious.
