Potions wasn't that difficult, she could do this. She reached out for her quill that she had stuck behind her ear, but all her hand met was a huge mess of huge and puffy red hair, "Merlin!"
Shaking it off Selina finished up cutting the leeches in five and then added it to the potion. She made sure to stir it clockwise once and only once. Then she added 16 scruples one at a time. To her surprise nothing blew up and she had no MAJOR issues, minus the hair. This was a very good sign thus far, so when was it all going to go wrong?
While she waited she looked up at the people who were partnering up and saw that Violet was avoiding Selina. How could she blame her? Selina was a walking time bomb in this class. In any other subject Selina would be the most logical choice for a partner, but here, in this setting, it was a safety hazard to be within ten feet of her. So she nodded at Violet in understanding and looked around for another partner.
She asked meekly, "Anyone need a partner?"
Gwen took the four leeches and sliced them length wise with her silver knife, exactly like Lafay told them to. Then, the ravvie tried to cut them.
And that was…how, exactly? 5 pieces per leach? How is that? Ah, right!, she decided after a short break of thinking.
She added everything in the cauldron and checked out what she had to do next.
Stirring… Clockwise? You mean… to the right? When she was done with this step, she added the 16 scruples.
Done! Now what? Wait- WHAT? I have to pick a partner? Come oooon!, the girl thought a bit disappointed. Then, she looked around, hoping she could spot someone normal.
Hmm… how about—you?, Gwen asked herself as she spotted a second year Gryffindor.
Great! ‘Do you still need a partner?’, Gwen asked the girl.
Hopefully.
