Paybacks. They sucked.
Heaving a great sigh, Destiny didn't let go of Mia's hand once they reached the steps and began pulling her up them slowly, so not to give her plan away. "Fine. Fine. I won't steal an animal. But I will borrow one, and give it back when I am finished with it."
Which would be never, but she wouldn't mention that.
Oh Destiny was trying to trick her. Mia could see that sneaky look on her face even though the girl was doing her best to play innocent. She knew better. Looking at her friend as they walked up the stairs, she let out a small sigh as well.
"Thank you. And you will let the Professor know, right?" That way if the girl did pull a swifty at least the Professor will know who had the animal.
"Don't you have enough pets already?" How many more could he girl possibly want? As they reached the next level, Mia spotted the basket of food they had dropped and she immediately picked it up. No point in wasting food.
She took a peek inside and gave a small delighted squeal.
"Hey! There's chocolate cake in here."
