It didn't take her long to finish the page and get a general idea of what was going on, "It says here.. in YOUR book.." Emphasizing on 'your' in case he forgot, ".. that Expecto Patronum is a Patronus Charm. "Expecto" expect or look for. "Patronus" patron saint, symbolizing a patron or assistant." She paused sinking the info in her mind and giving him a minute to process.
"It conjures a Patronus, a silvery phantom shape, usually that of an animal, which is the embodiment of the positive thoughts of the caster." She added after reading the next passage. Looking at Dal she smiled faintly, "Got it?"
The ceiling was rather boring. Dal thought that the librarian should decorate it maybe, because there had to be a lot of students that looked at it. When they were bored or stressed or something.
He vaguely heard as Louisa started reading from his book. Blah, blah, blah - oh! Patronuses? Dallin sat up, immediately more interested. Defense Against the Dark Arts was one of the few things Dal actually paid attention to and liked. Which was why it was a shame that they had no real DADA professor this year. And also, the Patronus charm was Dal's favorite spell. He knew a lot about it. What a coincidence that Louisa had decided to read that bit of the book. "Got it," he said proudly. Maybe he could show her what else he knew. Because he'd researched this subject. Surprisingly. "Everyone has a different Patronus," he recited, recalling the information from some book. "In rare cases the animal changes, but in most it stays the same throughout your whole life." See - he was smart.
