She turned her eyes on Skye when she snapped at her, again surprising as she was always the quiet one of the three. The peacemaker in a way but didn't get involved. Was that like her religion or something? She opened her mouth to reply but what ever she was about to say completely left her, her mind when Louisa decided to speak her mind.
Seriously what was it with these girls today? But once the younger girl finished she had to feel sympathy for her, how could her mother do that to her. Before she could properly think - or she wouldn't have dared - she moved to sit down next to the girl. She even went as far as resting her head on Louisa's shoulder.
"Sorry..." Was all she said.

As far as she knew, this was a first. How happy she was to see that Louisa could stand up for herself!
Skye's eyes continued to widen as Louisa told her what was wrong, and her eyebrows drew together in concern. "Oh, honey, I'm sorry," she said gently. She hugged her friend with the arm that was already around her shoulders. "That's really horrible. But I'm sure there is a good reason for them not telling you. Maybe they didn't want you to worry, because it's not as serious as you think it is?" At Louisa's next words, Skye raised her eyebrows in disbelief. "That isn't true! I care about you," she said quietly.
Skye was somewhat blown away by Enya's split-second change in demeanor. The girl had gone from haughty and arrogant to tender and sympathetic in a blink! It was truly amazing what happened to a person when their friend was upset. Skye said nothing, but when Enya leaned in to put her head on Louisa's shoulder, she silently shifted her hand a bit, so that Enya wouldn't put her face on it instead of a shoulder. For the moment, as so many other moments, Skye was happy to just sit in silence and think.
The scene suddenly twisted and the atmosphere went from anger and sadness to compassion and friends-related… if that made sense. When Enya leaned her head to her friend's shoulder and Skye squeezed her, she lost that thread that prevented her tears and cried silently. It was different though, crying with two friends on your side felt good… relieving. Especially now she knew that Enya was truly good at heart, just the way Louisa thought her to be. A part of her was very happy that Enya showed that and didn't continue her pushing-away approach. It meant she cared and considered her a friend. However, Louisa didn't want to talk anymore, not even when Skye spoke. She stayed still for a few minutes before that burden on her chest faded a bit.
"
I don't think they left because of only that though." Her voice was hoarse, "
I overheard them once, my mom and Jason, talking about how it was possible to keep me around my brothers. They will ask questions soon and they didn't want them to know about magic." She sighed softly, "
I knew they didn't want me with them and I learnt to handle it but.." She looked at Skye with her puffy eyes, "
.. to lie to me! Pretend that they care and then hide the fact that Johnny is sick! That is what I will not forgive." She said the last part strongly.
