By the time it was a hat, it likely wouldn't even realize what had hit it. "You know," she added, rolling her wand around in her hand, "I'll be glad to transform your cat, as well." She shrugged. It made no difference to her. Cat...hat...whatever.
She slowly moved her gaze away from Hollingberry and pointed her wand at her own cat once again. "Fera Verto!" This time, furballs shot into the air with a slight poof sound. Her cat was no more. On her desk instead was a hat...of some kind. She hadn't even bothered to look carefully at it yet. She did, however, notice something small and white lying next to her hand. She picked it up and showed it to Hollingberry. "Oh, look," she said, "...a furball."
Kurumi immediately felt sick to her stomach when Sierra spoke. It wouldn’t feel good!? Kurumi suddenly lost all desire to cast the spell on Buta and she flopped back in her seat while the cat attempted to roll over onto its side. Being too fat, the cat merely flailed its paws in the air and its bellow wiggled like a bowl of jelly.
Biting her lower lip and looking like a small puppy that had just been kicked, she turned her gaze towards Sierra when she offered to transfigure Buta. “T-T-Thank you for the offer…b-b-but I really should do my own work,” she mumbled as she breathed in and out heavily. She would just have to be EXTRA careful with the spell so as not to hurt the fat cat.
Just as Kurumi was about to test her luck, Kurumi heard a POOF sound and the next thing she knew Sierra’s cat had vanished.
Or so she thought.
Squeaking LOUDLY, Kurumi saw the white cotton ball remains of what she assumed had been the cat. In her panic, she failed to see a hat transfigured on the table by Sierra and began flailing her arms around like a windmill before crouching on the ground beside Buta. “
I-I-I promise I won’t turn you into a cotton ball,” she whimpered as she scratched the feline behind the ears.
She shot a quick glance back towards Sierra and felt all the color in her face wash away. She was going to faint…Sierra had KILLED a cat! The assignment was to turn it into a HAT not KILL it!
Standing up again, Kurumi picked up the ball of fur and wibbled some more. “
M-May you rest in peace,” she said as she petted, yes petted, the fur. She would give the cat a proper burial after class.
Kurumi then looked back at Buta and continued to chew on her bottom lip. She was NOT going to turn him into a cotton ball. She wasn't even sure that he COULD turn into something that small to be honest.
Taking out her wand now, Kurumi pointed it at the cat - who was still trying to roll onto its side - and waved her wand. "
Fera verto," she whimpered as an oddly colored light errupted from her wand and wrapped itself around the cat. Kurumi hear a similar popping noise and what lay before her was a melted version of what resembled a graduation cap with Buta's tail being the tassle.
MERLIN! SHE HAD MELTED THE CAT!
