The catnip did appear to be helping but it was still too soon to claim that it was a success. They did still have to catch the thing and return it to the classroom. What they were going to do with it once they were back in the classroom was really anyone's guess and she didn't even want to start to guess what Shaw might have in mind. Seriously, the guy allowed Destiny to have a chainsaw in the last lesson and that alone was asking for trouble. The two were friends and all, but she was still a bit leery of seeing her friend with a power tool.

The cat continued to slowly approach them. The scent of the catnip was alluring and it was clear that the pull of it was working. Staying close to the ground, the cat stretched out and nipped at the closest sample of catnip, letting out a tiny meow.

Hearing the meow, Mina smiled. "See, we are really nice. We don't want to hurt you," she spoke softly. It was true, they meant it no harm at all. They weren't going to hurt the cat, no they just needed to move it.
Simon smiled as what they were doing seemed to be working, just wanting to complete the task and move on to the next. Hopefully whatever was next wasn't too bad, he mused to himself. Animals were used in transfiguration but they usually remained unharmed...right? Well they would see when they got back into the classroom, they would just have to wait and see and if it was too much, he and Mina could always sick the catnip-crased animal on the crazed professor...then maybe HE'd learn.

It was a quiet meow but it was a happy one and that was certainly something in the right direction and a plus to work with. As the cat picked at the cat nip being held out to it, Simon purposely spilt some of the capnip which he held onto the floor in front of him. They needed the feline to get close enough to be able to get ahold of before it had a chance to run away.

"See we give gifts not punishment..." he mused absently trying not to sound too stupid. They were already trying to bait a cat after all.
