Eyeing the tortoiseshell cat, Iris slowly shook off her
woolly cardigan, not bothering to remover her Head Girl badge from the chest of it. Placing it on the floor, Iris then took off her
charm bracelet - being careful not to startle the cat with it. Crouching down, the Head Girl crawled near to the cat and held the bracelet out, jangling it so it'd catch the cat's attention.
Lou (yes, that was the cat's real name. He might be feral, but he remembered his name!) wasn't happy. No. He'd been TRAPPED and locked away, then just THROWN out into the Hallway. Worst of all, it stank of CAT NIP! Lou was allergic to the stuff! He trotted down the corridor, trying to find a cat nip-free spot. Then he noticed students running out after them. Oh no! They were trying to catch the cats! Lou quickly ran under a bench, hoping they wouldn't find him. Jingle jangle jingle jangle...
Oooh. What's that? The cat peeked his head out from under the bench, and saw the source of the noise. It was a pretty noise maker. Crouching down low, the cat stuck it's bottom in the air and begun to shake it's tail. Oh yes, he was going to get that noise maker...
Aha! Yes! Iris grinned as she watched the cat notice the bracelet, AND as he started to follow it with his eyes. Keeping her gaze focused on the cat, Iris groped behind her with her free hand for her cardigan.
"C'mere Mr Cat... C'mon. Chh chhh, chhh..."
It didn't take long for the cat to pounce at the bracelet... nor did it take long for him to attack Iris's HAND instead of the bracelet.
"OWWW!!!!! You stupid cat!!" Dropping the bracelet AND the cat, Iris held her hand close to her chest. Damn... AHHH. That REALLY hurt! Feral cats have reeeeeaaally long claws! She looked down at the cat - it was now happily playing with her bracelet. Oh, Iris was SO glad that her cats weren't like this.
She picked up her cardigan and opened it up, then threw it over the cat.
WHAT WAS THIS?! It had gone completely dark! Lou looked up, and found himself trapped. That silly human was trying to catch him!! She'd LURED him with this noise maker! Ohh.... this was exactly why he HATED them! Next thing he knew, Lou was being picked up by the middle by some big human hands!
He lashed about and wriggled and meow'd. He waved his claws in the direction of the human, he kicked his hind legs at her. He tried curling up in a ball around her hands to be able to bite them. But it was all USELESS. This human seemed to know what she was doing. It was like she'd WORKED with cats before!
Owww!! Ow, ow oww!!! Clutching the cat close to her, Iris wrapped it up as much as she could with her cardigan. This probably meant the cardigan would be rendered uselessly unwearable but that was the least of her worries right now. SHE WAS GETTING SCARRED BY THIS BLOODY CAT. As it hissed and meow'd, and kicked, and wriggled, Iris just made her grip firmer until she was holding it like a baby over her shoulder.
"Will you give it a rest, already??! You stupid cat!" Grumpily, Iris stomped her way back to the classroom. OOOH. She HATED this man!
