"Okay. That's what class is about. And stop calling me SIR! It's just SHAW."

Shaw hesitated, then nodded to this one. Seemed alright. Cautious, but that was smart.

"You can come sit near me."

Shaw regarded his pupils, cats and otherwise, then pulled out his own wand. "Alright. We're going to learn a few lessons today. Few lessons. That means, more than one, more than one part of class. The first part is more of a mind over matter section. Important stuff. Sometimes you gotta learn to control your mind and surroundings 'fore you can really do good transfiguring. Then the second half is transfiguration. So full on practice for you all today. Good good."

Shaw went to pick up the box of wands and immediately ALL the wild cats dashed out of the door and into the hallway. They skidded and hissed by.

"Your first assignment today is to catch one of them there wild cats. Domesticated ones won't do, 'cause that's too easy. You may NOT use magic 'cause summoning and stunning cats is just plain dangerous! Go CATCH yourself a cat! Then come back here."

Iris had occupied the seat near the back of the classroom again. She didn't like Shaw, he was a nutter. She watched him as he announced the start of the lesson and as he explained WHY he had all these feral cats.... He also wanted them to give in their wands?! ... He really was insane. Huffing as she got up, the Head Girl walked to the front of the class and dumped her wand with the rest of the students wands. She wasn't happy about parting with it; it was part of her! He might've well just told her to cut her left hand off!

Turning around, she followed a couple of younger students out of the classroom to go and catch herself a feral cat. Although... Perhaps growing up in the middle of the countryside would be an advantage here...
