Kurumi had lost track of Walnut in the mass of fur and diving students. "
Walnut! WALNUT!" she called hoping that the kitty would respond to her in some fashion. When there was no meow in response, Kurumi knew it was time to bring out the big guns - or small as the case may be.
Digging through her pockets again, Kurumi pulled out something that she always had in her pocket -
tuna fish cookies for Walnut. It was a recipe that she had made up just for the cat using soy flour and whole wheat flour - along with tuna fish of course. The moment Kurumi pulled the small bag from her pocket and a low crinkling noise filled the air, Kurumi knew that was enough to get a certain kitty's attention. Sure enough, she saw ears perk up and in the next few moments Walnut had come bounding across the room and had his paws on her leg. "
If I give you this, you are going straight back to the common room, you got that?" she said kneeling down next to the cat who was bouncing up and down and pawing at the air.
Once Walnut had seemingly bowed his head in agreement, Kurumi handed him the cookie which he immediately devoured. "
Back to the common room," she said as she pointed her finger towards the exit. Thankfully, the cat didn't need told twice and he sauntered his way out of the corridor.
Kurumi melted to the floor, exhausted from chasing after the cat for the past...well...however long she had been in this area chasing cats. Now she had to chase after another one...Kurumi wasn't entirely looking forward to this. Maybe if she just sat really still with the tuna fish cookies in her hand one would just walk right on up to her? It was worth a shot.
Kurumi sat very still for a few minutes as she watched everyone chase and dive after cats, that clearly had been feed too much catnip, with a tune fish cookie resting in her right hand. Suddenly, she felt something wet and scratchy like sandpaper licking her palm and her head snapped around to see a
monster of a cat licking every last crumb from her hands. It looked like her was about to go after her fingers next.
"
H-H-Hello," she stammered as she observed the cat who then began sucking on her finger like a baby on a pacifier. Shifting her position a bit, Kurumi straddled the cat, bent down, and tried to pick it up...but the cat didn't budge an inch. Taking a deep breath...Kurumi tried again and put more stress on her legs and...SHE DID IT! She had picked him up!
Sadly, the cat weighed like 100 thick dictionaries stacked on top of one another, so Kurumi was only able to make it a few inches before she had to put the cat down and try again.
This was going to take some time...yo heave ho?
