Ok so it wasn't as dangerous as dealing with a chain saw but Simon was sure the claws of the feral cats were bound to be nearly as sharp as said blade. You just risked infection rather then dismemberment when dealing with them. Leaving his stuff on his desk, Simon got up anyway and crossed to the open door to head out of the classroom into the hallway. Wasn't like a Gryffindor to back down and even if he didn't go after a cat himself or manage to catch on, he could help his fellow students if they needed it.
