He clearly had the location
"LONDON" on one letter and
"HOME" on the other one. Athena would know the difference. Hugo stepped in the owlery and the poop smell penetrated his nostrils. He remembered that time with Fee when he had cleaned it all up and Chandler thought he ate it all.
Now where was his owl? Oh, there she was. Hugo walked towards
Athena who was sitting in a window, almost not noticing one of his closest friends. He picked up Athena and gave her a treat.
"Hey Kurumi," Hugo said and the owl hooted.
"What's up?" he asked, eyeing the letter Kurumi was about to send. They hadn't talked in a while. But seeing as love was kind of a touchy subject for her right now, he decided not to tell her about his first kiss that had happened a while ago. And his second kiss that happened yesterday night. Yup, that was awesome.
"This is Athena," Hugo said and petted the animal as he gave her the letters. Apparently, she had emotions. He turned his head and looked in the bird's eyes. She was just a bird... Right? He gave her another treat and set her free with the two letters. A cat would be nice too. Owls weren't the most huggable pet.
Squeaking like a mouse when she heard someone speak, Kurumi jumpspun around and was relieved to see Hugo standing there. "
H-Hello," she said as she took a few deep breaths to calm her somewhat panicking heart. Her eyes then went to the owl being introduced to her. "Oh, she is lovely," Kurumi smiled as she took a few steps closer. "
It is very lovely to meet you, Athena." Kurumi bowed to the owl, and just in time for Hugo had sent her off on her mission to deliver a letter. Or was it letters? She looked like she had a fair share of parchment attached to her talons.
"
Writing home?" she asked. Although, that was probably not the most intelligent of things to ask. Kurumi tugged on her hair a bit and scanned the perches for the school owl that she usually used. She had become quite partial to this particular owl. No one else really seemed to use him because he was so small. Maybe Kurumi just had a thing for small animals. Walnut had stubby legs after all. "
Oh, there you are," she chirped as she approached a
tiny little owl on one of the bottom-most perches.
