Finlay looked up as he heard someone else approach. Mia. He hadn't seen her for a while, not since they'd had that argument. He felt bad about that, they'd gone so long without arguing. The ravenclaw boy smiled, as he stood up, and walked over to her. Things did feel a little awkward but he wasn't going to let it be awkward. "Hey..." He smiled at her, feeling the temptation to hug her. Well she was his best friend, and he was allowed to do that. So he just smiled at her instead.
The moment Finlay said her name, Mia let out a breath she hadn't realised that she had been holding. They may have had an argument but they were best friends and best friends didn't let a silly argument get in between them.
She smiled back at him and then threw her arms around him and gave him a huge hug.
"Happy Birthday Finlay." she murmured before giving him a kiss on the cheek. She gave him another squeeze and then pulled back a little and held out the box to him.
"It looks small now but I had to reduce the size so that I can carry it." Mia gave him a shy smile.
"It's a box to keep your broomstick in. I made it myself. You can't see it now but I have engraved your name and a special design on it."
