Thanks for the comments and compliments guys! I'm glad you're enjoying the story!
The house elf gave a simple nod and the next thing Dean knew a bottle of whiskey and a small glass was sitting on the table in front of him. Wasting no time Dean pulled off the cap, poured a bit of his beverage of choice into his glass, and took a swig. He smiled as the oh too familiar burn slid down his throat and into his chest. Dean made a little "ahh" sound before he noticed that the three kids were staring at him.
"You'll understand when you're older," said Dean before returning a "what" look to Sam's stare of disbelief.
"So, who exactly is this You-Know-Who character?" Sam asked, trying to relieve the tension that Dean had no doubt caused.
"He's basically one of the most powerful wizards in the entire magical world," said Hermione, taking a bite out of the small pot pie in front of her. Dean had been so concentrated on his whiskey that he hadn't even noticed the food. In all honesty, a good whiskey beat out food any day of the week.
"And what exactly is he after? Complete domination?" Sam asked.
"Basically," said Hermione with a little shrug. "He's found a way to sort of make himself immortal, but still beatable. We believe he wants to wipe out the entire muggle world...that or make them slaves to the witches and wizards of the world."
"Well that definitely sounds like something Lucifer would enjoy," said Dean, pouring some more whiskey into his glass.
"Yes, it does, which is why I believe that the two are working together. If Lucifer could get all the demons teamed up with all the wizards fighting under Voldemort, they would have a very difficult army to beat."
"I always thought Lucifer would fly solo though," said Sam, taking a bite out of his own pot pie.
"I believe that will ultimately be his goal, but for now he sees You-Know-Who as an asset."
"Great, so now we have loads of demons mixed with angry wizards that can do things by saying words and swinging sticks. This just keeps getting better and better," Dean muttered, more to himself than anyone else.
"So, how exactly are you going about beating him?" Sam asked, choosing a more constructive route than Dean.
"We believe that he had split his soul and put the pieces into various objects that have importance to him. If we destroy the object, then we kill the piece of his soul," said Hermione.
"He's split his soul seven times, and so far we've destroyed two of them. We have the third, but they're very difficult to destroy. We still haven't found the object that is powerful enough to do it," said Harry.
Dean looked at the kid and realized that the boy shared the same kind of tired and exhausted look that Dean had, but there was a hopefulness to him that mirrored Sam's eyes. It was almost as if the kid was the two Winchesters pushed into one being.
"Alright, so what do you need to destroy them?" Sam asked. "I mean, you've destroyed the other ones...can't you use the same thing?"
"The problem is that the first horcrux Harry destroyed, he used a basilisk fang, but we don't have one of those. Dumbledore destroyed the second one, but we're still not entirely sure how," said Hermione, before shoving another bite of her pot pie into her mouth.
"So, uh, what's your story?" Ron asked, not bothering to swallow before he did so.
Sam turned to look at Dean, who had quickly shoved another swig of whiskey into his mouth.
"Long story short, basically I let Lucifer out of his cage, and now he's ready to have a show down with his brother Michael, basically wiping out all of mankind."
The three kids stared at Sam as if he had just grown a third head.
"Wait, you mean Lucifer, as in the devil?" asked Harry.
"Yes, that one," said Sam, grabbing the whiskey bottle in front of Dean and taking a swig from the bottle. Hey, at least Dean was courteous enough to use a glass.
"Well...that's quite...wow. And how exactly do you plan to stop an angel?"
"Well that's the million dollar question isn't it?" said Dean with a dry laugh. "What we're trying to do is throw Lucifer back in his cage."
"And how do you do that?" asked Ron.
"We have to get the rings of the four horsemen, then somehow convince or trick Lucifer to jump back into his cage," said Dean with a "how easy is that?" smile.
Hermione stared at Dean with a look of disbelief. "We're screwed...we're well aware," said Dean.
"No, I just didn't think anyone could possibly have a harder task than the one we have," said Hermione. "I mean the Horcruxes could be anything, and we are still kind of grasping at straws here to try and figure out what they are and where we can find them."
"We have two of the horsemen's rings, but we'll need the other ones. Maybe with all of us working together, it can make this easier," said Sam with a hopeful smile.
"I know that Lucifer has sent demons looking for the three of them. Perhaps they would be safer under our protection," said Cass.
"But they're muggles," said Ron, looking at Dean and Sam with an apologetic smile.
"Yes, but it sounds like they're just as involved in this as we are. And besides, we've never dealt with demons before. We could use their help," said Hermione.
"I agree," said Harry with a firm nod. "The more heads we have together on this, the quicker we can find those horcruxes and the quicker we can stop Voldemort."
"It uh sounds like from what Cass has told us that you guys are working on a timeframe here. When is this showdown between Michael and Lucifer?" asked Ron.
"Three months," said Cass.
Their mouths fell open slightly and Dean gave them another award-winning smile.
"Well, we better get cracking then. Since Voldemort isn't going anywhere anytime soon I think we should help them with the horsemen situation," said Hermione, looking at Harry for approval.
"I agree. So, where's the next horseman?"
"The next horseman we're looking for is pestilence," said Sam.
"Who?" asked Ron with a confused expression.
"The horsemen of sickness and disease," said Hermione, slight disbelief in her voice. "That could be...challenging."
"Nothing like a little sickness to brighten your day," said Dean with a smile before lifting his glass, and taking another swig.
