Those sweet badgers had some claws, man. She listened as Ari went on about her family, but then it seemed like the girl said more than she'd intended, and suddenly she was wanting to know about Vashti's family. Ah, Merlin. Not good. She wanted to turn the topic back around to Ari's family, as she would much rather hear her friend talk about this uncle of hers; it seemed like a much happier subject than Vashti's family. But she couldn't think of a good way to turn the conversation back around without being completely obvious and awkward about it, so she bit her lip for a moment before replying, "I... Er, what exactly do you want to know?"

Hmm. Developing social skills was probably a good reason, buuut... "We can do that in other things though, like participating in classes or other activities like Quidditch and Gobstones." Still, she supposed that wasn't quite the same skills that developed from sharing a dorm. Sharing a dorm didn't teach you to beat people up with bats, after all. It shouldn't, anyway.

Vashti returned the smile. "I suppose we might." They certainly had to have the house traits in common, otherwise why would they be Sorted into the same house, right? But Merlin, the chainshaw. She was never going to be able to say that word properly ever again. "I'm sure he does. I just wish he could fire the guy and get us a proper professor."
Surprised, Ari raised an eyebrow. 'Really? Hmm...then I'd better be more careful around Huffies and not take them for granted.' she mused. Who knew badgers could have claws? Hehe. The Gryffindor thought she had sensed that Vashti was somewhat uncomfortable with talking about her family, but she couldn't just take back the question now. 'What do I want to know? Well...the basic things. If you have siblings, what your parents are like, who's your favourite relative, things like that. As much or as little you want to tell me.' the little one added.

'Yes, but in classes we can't really socialize.' Just imagine chatting during Lafay's class. NOT good. 'And not everyone plays Quidditch.' She sure didn't. Although, Gobstones sounded fun. Ari was considering giving that a try.

Ariadne didn't understand why the headmaster couldn't do anything about Shaw if he was aware of the man's teaching style. 'At least maybe he'll only be here for a year.' Still, it was a loooong way till summer.
