She supposed there was a sort of connection there, if you squinted at the facts. "Father told me that my brother Takashi was transfiguring pocket watches into rabbits by age three. Startled my mother naturally. He was always the smartest in the family. Sorted into Ravenclaw actually."
She turned the page and scanned the titles again. Nope, nothing in this issue.
She set it on a separate stack and picked up an issue from the end of March. Before looking at the front page, she looked up at Treyen and laughed at the facial expression on his face. "As many as it takes," she said in a very serious tone as the edge of her lip quivered. Unable to keep her straight face much longer, she burst into a small fit of laughter. "I'm kidding! I do have my other studies to attend to." She covered her mouth for a moment to contain a snort. "2049 should be enough. It's the year my brother Ryunosuke was born in and mother mentioned a fire of some sort that year."
Kurumi turned her attention back towards her Prophet, but found her gaze once again locked on the Prefect. "T-Treyen," she said shyly reaching across and resting her small hand on his arm. "Thank you...for you know, helping me. I-I've been afraid of doing this on my own. Adam...he...he used to help me figure things out..." She frowned again and the shimmer returned to her eyes. "I'll bake you any cupcake you want after this," she continued smiling at him as bravely as she could.
After squeezing his arm softly, her eyes flicked back to the Prophet on her lap and now it was her turn for her eyes to widen. There, on the front cover, was a large picture of the same man from the Ministry book and the words 'Winged Horsemen Meets a Tragic End' above it.
Oh. So it was only her? That was even more amazing! It made her even more special than she was. But she didn't think so, did she?
"That's incredible," he said, and his eyes widened only a little in surprise. He didn't know how the whole Metamorphmagus thing worked, since the only two he was aware of happened to be an only child, BOTH.
The boy blinked again as she said 'as many as it takes'. Well, she wasn't going to give up so easily, right? Oh, no, wait. Treyen chuckled,
"I'm sure the other studies will understand if you focused on this, though," he said, adding a wink at the end.
Kurumi was being rather funny today, and...confident, sort of. That was a first.
"Okay, so, only 2049, good," he said, while eying the stuff about Kazimeriz for a little longer. The man was rather creepy. AND HE DIDN'T GET THE CONNECTION UNTIL NOW. That man had taught Potions in Hogwarts! Kaika used to speak highly of him. Why was everyone involved in Potions rather creepy? Because no matter if Lafay was beautiful or not, he still wouldn't want to be in her way if she was angry, or moody.
He was rather focused on the paper, and her hand on his arm had been a complete surprise. He looked up to meet her, and his cheeks had the lightest tint of pink. Yeah, he hadn't been expecting that. Treyen was still all smiles, small ones, though. And then he nodded,
"It's not a problem, really," he said, not commenting on the Adam part, for it seemed she could break into tears if he did.
"There's no need for the cupcake, just keep on smiling like that," just because he couldn't deal with tears, okay? Let's not get any ideas.
His eyes were still on her, which made it very easy to witness her expression. She found something, didn't she? Treyen let go of his paper and pretty much jumped to her side, the chair almost flipping backwards. No one fell, nothing happened, alright?
"Winged Horsemen?" was that familiar to Kurumi?
