No. The situation wasn't as dire as that. But, she wanted to know where she came from. Her father never talked about his past, always brushed it aside like it was no big deal. Meanwhile, she had been forced to meet her mother's side of the family every New Years and had her cheeks pinched and whatnot by women she hardly knew. "I want to know who my father is," she said simply shrugging her shoulders a bit. "All my life his bloodline, well, his magical side was kept a secret. It was only when our owls from Hogwarts arrived that we were...different." Well, more different than had already been established by the town.

"I thought the same thing too..." Kurumi replied when Treyen mentioned a possible theory. "I just get the feeling that it is more than just him changing his name. He altered his appearance too."

Sighing, she leaned back in her chair and hugged her knees closer to her chest. "I'm looking for anything that mentions an attack on a non-magical residence," she explained handing him an old Daily Prophet. "Mother mentioned that the living room part of our home had to be rebuilt because of a fire sometime before my oldest brother was born." She knew it was a long shot, but it was the only hint she had at the moment.

"You have more confidence than you give yourself credit for," she smiled as she grabbed a paper for herself to flip through. "You are a Lockhart after all." Yep, she had done a bit of research in the library on the family line. Rather unfortunate incident involving his great grandfather...or however many generations back the man was. Nice smile though.

Having those violet eyes looking back at him was something worth smiling about. If his favorite color was other than purple, then he probably wouldn't have paid much attention to them.

Okay. He understood. And he couldn't blame her. One of the reasons for the Lockhart kids to not get along was because one managed to meet their mother and the other didn't. In Treyen's case, he would've wanted to know her...thing is...he can still ask and get answers, but it'll never be the same.

The boy nodded, while holding a small smile, "Then we better get started," he said, his smile widening.

He frowned, almost instantly, the smile...POOF! Gone. "But, the same reason could apply to that, you know, in case someone recognized him," he said, eyes on Kurumi, as usual. "Are your brothers like you, Kurumi?" he said, gesturing to her hair, he didn't want to say 'Metamorphmagus' aloud.

But then the Gryffindor girl gave him a Daily Prophet's edition and he eyed the date, "2049?" his eyes were widening by the second, "Exactly how many years are you planning on doing the research around?" he blinked a couple times as he noticed that perhaps the stack of things he thought to be books, were actually Daily Prophet editions.

Well, HE had nothing to do. He could go through half of those newspapers if Kurumi needed him to. And he'll do so with a smile on his face. As long as cupcakes would happen next.

He had to smile, but it was a shy kind of smile, "Yeah, with most people," he shouldn't complain about the one exception. His eyes were on the Prophet when she spoke next, and he noticed something in her voice, "What do you know?" he said, eying her curiously, and taking his attention from some old news about a man named Kazimeriz.
