She did, however direct her attention to the Professor as she spoke again and gave her a weak smile to go along with the weak greeting she had given.
"I dunno if I will make it through this lesson..." she muttered to Sal and Jim... or whoever heard her really. WOE IS ME. Look how yucky sick she was... someone needed to baby her and make her better.
"Aww Lex, of course you will, you're a trooper." Jimmy dropped his feet from his desk and scooted his chair over to her. He gave her a pat on the back and then gently pulled her hair free of the tie and refastened it. Hehe. "There. Now we can see your pretty face." Grin.
He patted her on the back again and then scooted back to his own desk.

Sure he missed his best friend so much, but he wasn't about to let everyone think that he was a whimp.
He boarded the sihp, glancing at the tanks. Hmm. Weird. "Hello Professor..." Finlay nodded, as he glanced to the back of the class, staring longingly at Jimmy for a few seconds. He really did miss him so much. Marie was there too, but he deicded to ignore her. He sat down on his own, on the third row back, and filled the little card out.
