Nate went wide-eyed straining himself from smiling too.
"What you talkin about? Nothing's in my pocket." He wasn't sure if he could keep this going without snapping first. He held her back, hoping to deflect.
Ahha birthday he thought, he started rocking her side-to-side,
"It's October 2." Nate whispered in her ear. Hearing the thought of the puppy he moved his hand from his wife's back to now her hands massaging them while in thought.
"You think we can handle a puppy." He almost looked like he was gonna explode, he wanted a puppy as bad as the kids but he didn't want to get overly excited if it wasn't right,
"Shall we go tomorrow then, and have the kids decide?"
He winked at Rosa relieved nothing was wrong,
"Sure I'll tell her... but it would sound better if it came from you- just saying." He smiled and turned to go be with the rest of the company.

Nate kinda elbowed Zack in the arm,
"See it wasn't that bad. I do think you're a good father, and I think you're a great friend too." There were a lot of people over,
"I am bound to converse with a lot of people tonight," standing tall and proper,
"I think Joey's having a good time. I need to talk to August soon, too."
