Gemini. That was her name. Gabe was very certain his friend had made a good choice there - whether she had was another matter. hehe. "Lovely girl," Gabe nodded, raising his glass to Damien in a semi-toast to the good news. And as for the party... "Maybe a whole evening is asking a bit much," he laughed. "Perhaps we should just stick to drinks for a couple of hours."

"The basis is supposed to be something about ridding the world of the Statute of Secrecy and for Wizarding kind to help Muggles... with everything from cures to illnesses to environmental protection. Hence the new Department," he said dryly as he poured the glass full.

If that was their only worry... "What concerns us is that since this campaign has started in our midst... there have been crimes of violence against mainly shopkeepers in Wizarding Britain. One from Godric's Hollow even... not just kidnappings, deaths have been reported as well."

Sobering news.

"But what are they gaining by attacking shopkeepers?" The dots just weren't connecting for her there. "Do we have any leads, Damien?" she asked gravely.
This was certainly not good news. And Gabriel had the feeling that a couple of the suspicious looking people he saw at Borr's party were some of the ones Damien meant. He wouldn't have put it past them to act violently - they had that sort of demeanour.

Gulping down the last of his firewhiskey, Gabe slid his glass forward and pointed at the bottle. "I think I'm going to need another one of those," he sighed. Sucking on his bottom lip he thought about everything his friend had just told them. He had wondered what they had an Environmental Protection department for - considering most Ministries got by very well without one, thank you. "And now with Borr as Minister, they can do a more effective job of infecting us from the inside out, I suppose," he sighed, picking up his re-filled glass and leaning back again in his seat.

He could understand them wanting to infiltrate the Ministry to achieve their plans, but his thinking seemed to be the same as Frankie's when it came to the shopkeepers. "I was thinking the same thing," he nodded towards her, before looking back at Damien. "How would attacking them get them what they want?" And leads would be most helpful, even if Gabe's remit was internal security. By the sound of it he would have his hands full with that.
