"Don't worry Zara I can teach you! I'm not very good, but my friend Rex taught me how to do a lot of dances last term so I can maybe teach you?" Even though Nika was anything but graceful and she is probably the clumsiest of all gryffindors she can give it a try right?
Partner dances are usually meant for a boy and a girl, but seems like Hogwarts is fresh out of those. So they could try to dance and have a good laugh about it at the same time. Besides it's not like the DADA professor was going to see their dancing. He was only grading their journals. So they can be awful and still earn a good amount of points for Gryffindor.
