Samira gave a small giggle. "Mysterious-er?" That was something you didn't hear everyday. She looked at the sky and shook her head in a mock-exhasperated expression. "And just when I thought the King of the Nerds was at the top of his reign...!" She pretended to clap her hands lightly. "Congratulations." Samira smiled and shook her head nonchalantly. "I screw up words all the time, too." She smiled to herself. "Funer, sleeped, drownded." She felt silly for listing all of her mistakes in grammar, but really, it wasn't that big of a deal. The Slytherin cocked her head to one side thoughtfully. "You know, I bet we can make our own words if we wanted to."
"Seriously," Levi agreed with a playful roll of his eyes. "It's pressure to keep up this title sometimes." He smiled as she explained to him that, once in a while, she made up her own words as well. He hadn't met anybody who did that sort of thing. Most of the students around Hogwarts, especially the ones their age, seemed to take themselves way too seriously. Nobody liked to mellow out and just laugh at themselves now and then. It was all about status, competition, and beating one another at Quidditch. Such things almost bored him to death. Who cared about them in the long run? School only lasted for seven years and it was better not to squander that time with stress.
"I think you're starting to out-do me, though," he added, putting the comic book down again. What was the point of reading right now? The Gryffindor was having too much fun goofing around with Samira. "We totally could. You know what? I like that you're not afraid to poke fun at yourself, Samira. You're really different, but in a good way." |
