Traitor 42. Silencio
Regulus was not telling. He was not going to help Severus in this. “I’m not even sure I know.”
Severus scowled. This was ridiculous. “Regulus, this is not a game. If you do not tell me, I will find a way to make that very clear to you.”
Regulus sighed, suddenly looking older. “I miss games. However, that isn’t why I am not telling you.”
“Then why, pray tell, are you not telling me?” Severus was getting beyond impatient.
“Because I don’t want you… and him… to know.”
Severus stiffened. “Are you serious?” He inquired, voice dangerously soft.
Regulus smiled half-heartedly, trying desperately to keep the conversation from becoming something they would both regret. “No, I’m Regulus. Honestly, Sev, I thought you knew that by now.” Regulus instantly knew it was a mistake when Severus’ scowl deepened and his lips paled in rage. Regulus would not give in, but neither would he invite confrontation.
“Black! Do not walk away from me, Black! Would you rather I face the Dark Lord without the knowledge he demanded I retrieve?”
Regulus suddenly felt the weight of his last name on his shoulders “Silencio,” he muttered, waving his wand almost idly behind his back.
