Daisy wandered into the great hall sleepily, still in disbelief that she had woken so early. She usually slept like a log and her Mother would have to come in and shake her to wake up. Daisy guessed that it was being in a new atmosphere that woke her early.

There was only one person at the Hufflepuff table in the almost deserted hall, a girl who looked a good three of four years older. Daisy didn't want to seem rude, but she was just too tired to talk, so instead of sitting next to the girl, who now looked deep in thought, she sat just along the bench, after giving her a small, weary smile.

Daisy reached for a bowl of cereal, she had to keep her energy up if she was going to practice flying after this, especially on the low amount of sleep she had got the night before. But Daisy really wanted to be on the Hufflepuff quidditch team, even if this meant getting up at the crack of dawn on her first morning at Hogwarts, just to keep fit.

Spooning cereal into her mouth, Daisy looked around. The Great Hall seemed so strangely empty, as the last time she saw it, it was packed with students. It looked nice in daylight, thought Daisy, now looking at the teachers table, trying to work out who the teachers (who her brother had told her about) were.
