He took the time to look around the Great Hall and take in its full splendor. There was no ceiling and candles were floating in mid-air. Were their other crazy places like this all around Hogwarts? "Yeah this place is...is...um, I guess there is no other way to put it but MAGICAL." When Jory introduced Daisey He had to lean forward a bit to see across Jory."Hi there Daisy." He put on a rather nice smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you." When Oakey finished introducing himself he looked down and noticed he had put his scarred hand in his potato salad.
Jory noticed Oakey's hand in the potato salad and began laughing again. He wondered if all the people here were funny when it came to food.
"So,Oakey are you trying out for the House Quidditch team? Have you flown before?" Jory asked after he had finished laughing.
Jory was happy to have a boy his age and in his house as his friend. And he wondered why there were hardly any other first years in Hufflepuff.

'Yes' Daisy said, imagining the tryouts, 'I might try out as a beater, I know they're usually boys, but my aim is quite good and I kinda like hitting stuff....' she laughed a little and took a sip of pumpkin juice. 'You'll enjoy flying, I don't know anyone who doesn't , the first broom ride is usually the best, except mine, where I fell from quite high....' she smiled reminiscently at the memory of it.' I'm not looking forward to astronomy much though... It sounds kinda boring and I will probably fall asleep,' she laughed. 'What about you, Is there anything you don't like the sound of?'
Jory had never heard of a girl being a Beater before but he was sure Daisy would make a fine one.
"Did you break anything from that fall?" he asked. He had broken his foot once and had no desire to break anything more.
"But Astronomy is late in the night. It should be fun. But if you fall asleep I'll poke you awake," Jory told Daisy. "I like the sound of everything and I'm looking foward to everything. I hope you make the team. Can't wait to see you take a swing at the other teams."

'Thank you.' she answered, with unmasked pride, beaming. 'I hope so, I'll come by the kitchens to steal some food so we could meet easily.' she joked. 'Your common room is next to the kitchens, right?' she asked for confirmation.
'I love the ceiling too, but I love watching the staff table as well. I can't wait to meet those Professors up there.' the girl chuckled. 'Of course! I can't wait! We should start this weekend, I'm sure we'll have plenty other things to do during the week.' she suggested.
"Yes right next to the kitcehns," Jory told her. "I can't wait to meet the House elves. They fascinate me."
Jory looked toward the staff table. He had not met any of the staff yet.
"Have you met any of the staff yet, Ari?"
He felt excitement creep up on him again.
"Definitely! Because I'm sure we'll get loads on homework.|
