She wasn't usually this concerned about anyone or anything else, but the kneazle had taken a liking to her and didn't seem comfortable at all around nearly everyone else.
Shoving the book she'd been trying to read on the train deep into the pockets of her robes, Sierra took a seat at the house table. For a few brief seconds, her eyes scanned the staff table. Oh, great--that lazy excuse of a professor was back again. Oh, yes, you--the one who made us service all the school brooms and clean up the filthy, deserted greenhouses. At least he was a good Flying instructor and Quidditch official, though. There were a few new faces, but Sierra would get around to figuring out who they were once classes got underway. For now, she turned her attention to her own house table.
Ahh, Slytherin--her safe haven away from Hufflepuffs, annoying Gryffindors, and spastic Ravenclaws. Alex hadn't seen his sister in...well, a REALLY long time, that was for sure. He felt really guilty for not giving his dad and his sister much thought over the summer, but he was pretty certain he'd been doing focusing on his flying and drawing and all that to STOP himself from thinking of them. He hadn't WANTED to face the fact that, with Sierra and Dad moving out, his whole world as he knew it was changing drastically. He wasn't used to a home with just one parent--let alone, one MOTHER. There was no MAN for him to look up to anymore!
Dressed in his Hufflepuff robes, he wandered over to the Slytherin table in search of his sister. He *GASP* missed her and just wanted to say hey and see how she was doing. He was even willing to go into the snake pit (quite literally!) in order to see her. "Hey Sierra!" he called as he walked over to wear she sat. He plopped down on the empty bench next to her and smiled. "How's it going?"
