Why he had stopped here, he couldn't be entirely sure. To anyone passing by his posture, with his hands tucked in his pockets and shoulders squared, neck tilted back to gaze distantly up at the gold figures, he would have appeared to be in the same admiration of the wizard couple as the creatures that looked up with him. For Sabel however, the matter of his gaze was one without particular attachment, thoughts drifting in and out of the focus of memory and contemplation. Not so different perhaps, from the types and processes of mental activity that resulted in the statue he stood before.
It served as a vivid reminder that nothing was isolated, and in the end, everything was connected; one way or another.
