Jamie sat up, his arms still round Alicia, and wiped his face on his sleeve. He looked over at Draco as he watched Emily in the corner of the room. He wasn’t sure on what was happening, just that nothing was going to be perfect again.

“Hey...” Jamie said in a thick voice, nodding to the Slytherin. He walked over and sat down beside them as Alicia stopped crying.

“You okay?” Draco asked quietly and Jamie nodded and Alicia’s hair turned purple. “Alicia?” She ignored him, focusing on something they couldn’t see.

“Ali? What is it?” Jamie said as Draco helped them to their feet. Emily’s sobs were still echoing round the room.

“Harry... In trouble... Dumbledore... Saving him... Voldemort’s here” She breathed, glancing round at them. Jamie glanced up at the exit as if Voldemort was going to come running through it. Alicia glanced round the room and her eyes fell on Emily as several Order members ran up the stone benches at her words.

“No, Alicia- leave her be” Remus said quietly, appearing beside her and putting an arm out to stop her. Alicia ducked under it and continued forwards, making the others follow her. Remus cast a look over his shoulder before following the people leaving the room.

Emily? It’s me... Can I sit with you? Alicia asked silently as she turned to glare at Jamie and Draco, causing them to fall back. She didn’t get an answer so she sat a little way apart from her. Emily, I know how you feel-

No you don’t... Alicia looked over and saw Emily’s tear-stained face staring at her.

Why are you telling me this? I don’t care- I just want to be left alone - why do you have to be so interfering?

Emily, we knew this was going to happen and we wasn’t ready... I didn’t even get to say sorry

The last thing I said to him was if I leave he has to come with me... He told Draco to take me and go- I couldn’t do anything to help!

We couldn’t anyway, Emily! You would have died trying to save him and then I’d be here trying to comfort Draco or Remus or- or- Alicia didn’t finish her train of thought, breaking down into tears again, drawing Jamie a step closer. I didn’t get to say sorry for what I said... I didn’t even get a chance to speak to him

The two girls continued to cry together until movement sounded up in the door way. Alicia glanced up at the sound of her name and saw Sophie Starlight- Jamie’s mother, looking down at her. You couldn’t even tell that she was Mrs Weasley’s sister, they were just so different. Alicia breathed deeply, glanced at Emily and then stood up. Jamie rushed to her side and hugged her tightly.

“I’m sorry” He whispered as she wiped her face on his shoulder.

“It’s not your fault, Jamie... The future happens for a reason” She whispered in a cracked voice as they stepped forwards to meet Sophie, who immediately wrapped her arms round them both.

“When I heard that you two were here and there was a fight... I was so worried!” She said in relief, still hugging them.

“Mum, we’re fine...” Jamie muttered as Alicia wiped away her slow, silent tears. Sophie raised an eyebrow at him and turned around sharply, her long blonde hair swinging over her shoulder. “Sean- Sean¬- get down here! I’ve found them” She called and Jamie’s dad appeared in the doorway, relief breaking out across his face. He stumbled slightly as he almost ran down the stone steps.

“You scared us, both of you” He said, hugging Alicia as her tears started to fall faster again. “What’s the matter, love?” He said soothingly, patting her back. Alicia shook her head and Jamie bit his lip, putting his head back to stare at the ceiling.

“Jamie? What happened? Where’s the rest of the Order?” Sophie asked, her soft and light voice clashing with the atmosphere.

“They’ve gone... Tonks and Mad-eye and Kingsley and Dumbledore... They left” Jamie said, still looking up. Alicia sniffed and spoke into Sean’s shoulder.

“D-Do you know who th-that girl is?” She asked and they both turned to look at Emily, still crying in the corner while Draco hovered nearby.

“Isn’t that Emily? Sirius’s girl?” Sean said, looking round at his wife. “Didn’t he say that she was dating the Malfoy kid?” Sophie nodded, her bright blue eyes narrowing as they fell on her son.

“Jamie, where’s Remus and Sirius? I want to talk to them” She said, her gaze flickering round the room once.

“Remus left too, mum” Jamie said, finally dropping his gaze to his parents. His eyes- exactly like his mothers- were brimming with tears again. Alicia had let out another sob as her knees had given out. Sean lowered her to the floor, still rubbing circles onto her back.

“Did Sirius leave with him?” He asked in a low voice, a frown on his face as his dark eyes fell on Emily again. Alicia shook her head into his shoulder and Sophie staggered backwards.

“No... No...” She said, shaking her head as her own tears streaming down her cheeks. Alicia felt her pain run through her head as Sean’s grip tightened slightly.

“Jamie” He said in a pained voice, motioning for him to take Alicia. As soon as he stood up, he walked up the steps and out of sight. Sophie dropped onto a stone step and began to cry, making Jamie lead Alicia over there so that he could comfort them both.
