Ohhh....While you up front are first years,
All the others here are not.
As you place me over top your ears,

Our houses each have certain traits,
Distinctly from the rest.
It’s what’s inside that delegates,

For Gryffindor in Gold and Red,
Seeks those who’ve shown they’re brave.
And you’ll do well in here, it’s said,
If that’s how you behave.
The Hufflepuffs, a patient crew,
Yellow and black you’ll wear.
Its loyalty that’s shown to you,
If I place you in there.
In Ravenclaw it’s Bronze and blue,
For students with great wit.
If you have smarts, then you’ll go too.
And in their house you’ll sit.
The Slytherins are sly, but keen,
A tight affiliation.
They proudly wear silver and green,
With cunning reputation.
So take your time and wait your turn,
Let me do what I do.
Set me upon your head and learn,
What house I’ll send you to."
