to hark the sorting call,
upon this great September,
among this hallowed hall.

And may you be distraught,
concerned, or I'll at ease-
fear not! Your famous founders,
to you they will appease.

Oh, Gryffindor was daring
and surely one of verve,
here, you may consider
should you own up to the nerve.

Next, old Helga Hufflepuff
who saw each as her own,
taught loyalty and equity-
for each they did condone.

Though yet, the Misses Ravenclaw
was clearly wit possessed,
wise and of a ready mind-
her's brighter than the rest.

Alas, is yet Sir Slytherin
a man of constant stealth,
here, you'll find ambitious few
of cunning, charm, and wealth.

For now, it's down to this,
your founders, they await-
in reputable hands you are held
so approach with steady gait.
